I'm an old hand at Armorsmithing having been one since the game launched and I'm still having fun.

I have fun experimenting with variouscore configurations (ie segments/layers)

I have fun actually stocking more than just composite for a change.

I have fun hunting down just the right resources.

I have fun haggling (ie BS'ing) with resource sellers, especially the critter resource sellers.

I have fun talking to customers and what not.

So yeah, I guess I'm still having fun 2 years later

I think 'fun' though is all in your mind. You can choose to have fun or not. It seems to be entirely up to you.

So .... What do you choose?

I have been a master AS since november 2003. I started after publish 4 because they fixed the palattes and that seemed exciting to me. I was never an uber smith but for a time i was one of the better armorers on my server for quality and affordability. I haven't sold a piece of armor since the CU and I only craft for personal friends now. the entire profession has become so homogenized that there is no excitement anymore. no challenge. I might sell some for outragious prices once my funds run out but until then...no I am not having any fun.

I've come to loathe logging on and filling orders, to the point where I've put off so many orders most people try to find another smith. Unfortatnetly for them there are only a small handful of smiths left on my server, as I'd say 75% of the previous smiths quit. I would say I was prolly 5th biggest smith before the CU, and all 4 above me quit. I am on the edge of quitting, if things don't change any time soon I prolly just gonna cancel both my acounts and declair the game a lost cause. I've hated the combat system since last december, and hated it more after the CU, so I am not interested in making a combat character. And TBH crafters have been hurt so bad in the CU it's like SOE doesn't want player crafters anymore, especially with how much support we get post-CU.

Although with jedi being the majority of the population now, I guess I can't blame them from a buisness perspective to try to keep the most people happy, but they forget that if you focus on one group of people and almost outright ignore everyone else it will bite you in the ass in the end. This game has turned into Lucas's hype machine, an expansion with every movie release (next expansion to be released simeltaneously with Revenge of the sith DVD) Everyone in the gaming industry knows that's a recipe for disaster for any liscensed game.

Give up Okram, its over man, we had our fun and the game is over. I'm going to spend my limited free-time war gaming. At least you know they wont be changing the rules on the drop of hat there.

I had alot of fun for about 6 months playing this game.... didnt make much money then, but the struggle was enough to keep me addicted. Fond memories.

This is my last post, I wish all of you happy gaming in the future. /saluteArmorSMITHS

Quizz-

I am on Naritus as well, you probably have not heard of me because I have not mass produced and I am not in the South Coronet Mall.

I still have fun with AS from time to time, but it ceases as soon as I run into one of the many bugs while I am trying to really crank out some armor.

I started this game on day one, I was on Corbantis to start and a buddy of mine started on Naritus. After a few months of him pestering me to switch, I decided to check out the server. I remember the first time I saw South Coronet Mall, we hadNOTHING even close to this on Corbantis. On the spot I was able to purchase some quality newb armor from both youAND Mauro at very reasonable prices. I remember saying to my buddy, "man, this server has some true crafters/merchants" That was the reason I switched over.

It saddens me to see South Coronet Mall now, several empty vendors, very few quality smiths anymore, etc. I can't help but assume thatthe decline of the crafters and merchants on Naritus is a direct result of the "dumbing down" of crafting.

Mauro-

If you are still out there dude, you and Quizz are the reason I took up crafting once I switched over. I thought, "man, these guys must be proud of what theydo in this game"

Good luck to you.

Well, I guess this question is really a double edged sword to be honest.

I do have alot more fun now that I interact with my clients more. But this is the part thats the doubled edged sword, some expect their armors done yesterday, like it use to be. I had a customer put in an order for 350 health enhanced battle armor at 9pm, and at 10pm was asking me if it was done. So it can be a little frustrating.

With that said, if they would fix the crate colors bug, then I would be a happy camper. I like being an armorsmith and have been one since 10/03. I think being an armorsmith rocks, and dont mind alot of the new changes(well with the exception of limited loot drops on health enhancers).

I think once they fix the color crates, alot of the frustration with remove itself and then when we can actually have time to play our mains, it will be more fun.

Hi. I just reupped my subscription to this stupid game (wondered if anything had changed - not really.) I guess I have fun flying, decorating my house, making clothes. I make a few armor scraps using those dirty looted cores. Overall this profession is a mere shadow of it's greatness. Chapstick can go to Tatooine; Calie, well, just watch out for sudden stops by Chapstick.

yes. If I wasn't enjoying the game I would quit.

I thought I might not enjoy the CU at all, but I gave it a shot, and though there are a few things I would do differently, I'm still enjoying the game. But who knows what tomorrow will bring.

I don't know. I'm pi$$ed a lot but I keep playing.

I resent having to use an entertainer to compete, and since the latest pub haven't been able to find an online musician to do the buff.

I've only been smithing since March so I didn't have much expereince with experimentation to miss it or not miss it.

There is an odd part of me that feels special since there are so few working smiths (Sunrunner) and, for the most part, my customers have been very kind and loyal.

I think it's because I have invested a lot of time in the game and would consider it wasted if I quit.
