Thread: Quest For 8000 Energy Recon Armor
as an AS who would sell these....I'm kinda for it.
But as a science fiction geek...I dunno. The whole theory behind the PSG is that it deflects energy travelling at an extrememly high velocity, but something moving slowly would be able to penetrate the shield with no problem. Think about it it like hitting a large body of water at 100 MPH (or about 161 km/h). The water acts more as a solid surface when an object collides with it at high velocity. Now think about just stepping into the water. Your foot enters with almost no resistance. Thats the difference between a blaster bolt and a lightsaber (or vibro-lance). but who knows...

Oh and thanks for pointing me to the link everyone has already read on the top of the forum there... that was useless.
Cerano, call yourself an armorsmith? As the author of that link I fail to see how it was useless in answering your question? Did you even read it? The answer is in there if you bothered to read it. My guess, is you want answers just given to you and can't be bothered to do any research yourself.
Ill spell it out for you in simple terms
An energy layer gives a max of 100 energy bonus. A layer experimented to 90% gives a 90 bonus,
There can be a maximum of 12 layers in a core, so thats a maximum of 1200.
Add this 1200 to the 7000 value from a capped suit to get a maximum of 8200.
So you want to make 8000 plus right. So thats a 1000 bonus from 12 layers. So 1000/12 is 83.3.
Hence, if you can make layers with greater than 83.3 bonus and are using segment and core resources taht allow you to make unlayered capped recon, you are ready to go.
