I've just made a couple of good padded suits with resists between 45-55%, what sort of price should I set on these? because a lot of customers are looking at the resists without the knowledge of its rare resources so they expect it being lower than ubese!

Thanks

Honestly guys, its nice to hear people experimenting with what we have. I'd like to see more. Maybe we should have a focus thread on each armor or maybe just one in general for our experiments in things like padded, chitin, bone, tantel and mabari. We might learn something. I don't think we have had much discussion on pushing these armors to their limits.

75%kinetic, 50% base on padded huh? sounds like a bit of a stretch, but even so im willing to bet the encumberance of that wasnear 1000.

yes, if you have amazing materials, tonnes of great hide and a lot of time on your hands you can make some decent padded.

the problem lies in the fact that you can make BETTER composite for less money, dont have to worry about the custom color thing, the resources are easier to stockpile, and the encumberance is actually around the same.

right now padded is complete garbage. it has, on average, half the protection of composite, yet 90-125% the encumberance. its also harder to make, and has half the durability. why would anyone make it except for looks?

if sony got their act together and actually tweaked the armors a bit, there would be other alternatives to comp or ubese. but this would require HALVING the padded encumberance, relaxing the named resource requirements a bit (the named hides are rediculous, especially TWO in one suit, both from opposite ends of the galaxy), etc.

newbies need to be educated on the advantages of light armor rating, low encumberance, and how vulnerabilities work --and then we would see more people wearing mabari, bone, chitin, etc. there iss far too little in-game info posted on how the overcomplicated armor system works. most newbies think mabari only gives yoou 10% protection and dont bother wearing it.

and as for the poster above, who used the 990/9xx wooly for padded... WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??!!

Made 76% kinetic, 48% base with a total HAM of 618/726/678 the other day (10 experimentation points).

Even with Lokian Leathery Hide of OQ 515 and SR 576 (crappy stuff eh?), I can get the kinetic resist up to 73-74% and the base to 45%.

Since money is not really an issue (cant do anything with your millions of credits anyway), it is more a matter of whether you want to dump resources in a factory and come back the next day to get your armor out, or be an armorsmith and handcraft custom-made armor in a large variety of colors.

Disagree (see stats above). If properly crafted, it can be excellent armor for PvE. It tops my best ubese and looks much better if you ask me.

I agree it takes quite some hides (1515 for a suit, whereas composite takes only 210; and 2135 other resources compared to 5467 for composite). On the other hand only the chest, leggings and helmet (that no one wants anyway) take more than one padded segment.

LOL, I use 965/815 wooly hide. Why waste it on the boring composite that everyone makes?
