Just did a pair of MK2's and MK1's for comparison.
Resource changed. Katrium Ore for Omniboris Vertex Cristaline Gemstone. (For some reason they switch from ore to gem for MK1's and 2's)
Recharge rate:
MK1: 94 experimentation. 94.3 recharge rate
MK2: 93 experimentation. 94 recharge rate
Special Resists:
MK1: 89 experimentation: 909 energy reisist
MK2: 89 experimentation: 1358 energy resist.
Max condition is also lower as you go down obviously. Though for the purposes of this testing I was more interested in resists and recharge rate. From what I can tell the only 'trick' is going to be balancing the resists and recharge rates. And only imperial PSGs and MK3 PSGS are really going to be worth making. I'll be digging out another imp PSG schematic disk to get more hard stats on the max stats of experimentation. I'll post again shortly.

Ok so here we go.
Imperial PSGs
Recharge Rate: 95 percent experimentation, 95.6 recharge rate
Special resists: 91 percent experimentation, 1841 energy resists.

Now here's another interesting comparison....
Energy resist experimentation:
MK3: 89 percent: 1803 Energy Resist
Imperial: 91 percent: 1841 Energy Resist.
Uppon comparing the recharge rates (Which I only had 1 point left over to experiment with) they are pertty much identical. So by the looks of things. MK3 PSGs are technically the superior PSGs if you can get the experimentation cap on reisists to the same 91 percent or higher.

And according to the numbers people, the 1841 is around 20% energy resist.
We might as well all start swapping lots between servers and pave Dantooine with harvesters.

My Imperial Prototype PSGs pre-CU have a base of 48%/35% energy.
Due to a known bug, there are no stats on the CU versions. Still awaiting feedback on when they will be shown.

Gah, that's important information to have. Thanks for letting me know!

Yeah. The whole thing is rather depressing to me though. And I've gone and cancelled my pre-orders on the new expansion pack. It certainly looked interesting. But... CU is rapidly killing what little about SWG that I like. I've got 3 toons all told. With my AS the challenge of crafting is pretty much gone. With my dancer... well no skill point reduction and all buffs have now been moved to the sub profession of entertainer. And his smuggler side seems equally badly hurt by various changes. Slicing also currently seems rather pointless. And there's no challenge to crafting spices.
It's now nothing but grind for the resoruce,s grind for the combat XP. And chat with friends. Well.. I can chat with friends for free. So...
yeah. Might be cancelling my 3 accounts too. I'll still stick it out till CU actualy hits. But I'm finally starting to think it's not worth my time at all. And certainly not the money I'm forking out each month. Combat is boring enough for me now. And it's even worse on TC4. If I want repetitive button mashing I'll go back to FPS games thanks. At least there my actual reaction times count for something etc. And Guildwars has no monthly fees. And is vasly more interesting even in beta.

Currently in TC4 they convert to useless junk. Just like all the armor loot etc.

If that is how they end up at those % rates they might as well removePSG's from the game all together.

I made a run of 67% energy 20+% base IMP PSG's in prep for the conversion. If those aren't any better than the MK3's what's the point. Man I hope those convert over.
Keep us posted on the bug fix and comparisons for the conversion. Thanks,

Has anyone even brought up the fact that these are non-sliced? (or non-customized if you've read the smuggler re-vamp posts)
