ok, im a current MDE and MWS on my alt, im considering dropping DE for AS and I have a couple of questions.
1. How bad is the dependancy on hide/bone? How much am I gonna be paying out my nose for em. prices are dropping, people are more willing to go hunt now that missions do't pay out as much
2. Can a 10pt even compete? I dont have the cash resources to go out for 11 pt or 12 pt suits. Now I know that stuff like quad spec and the more uber stun armor cant be done w/o 12 pts (got this info from AS friend) but can I make standard 80 kinetic and 70ish base stuff? and how bout the 70+ ubese? you can compete, you can make 80% 70% base comp and you can make 70% ubese. You can basically max one row. In comp if you max base you will hit 80%, the only difference will be your is much heavier. Same goes with ubese, you can max special protection, but your ubese will be heavier.
3. How hard/expensive is the grind? I did DE in 1 day, WS in 3, i grind fast so . . just trying to gauge how much of a pain it is compared to those 2. You can grind in one day if you have the materials
4. Does master Artisan help? (im not dropping it, just curious) helps for psg componets and surveying, not hugely helpful, but it does help
5. Are the only sellers comp armor? or can I make some cash selling lesser stuff like ubese and padded? there are plenty of niche markets. Fasion padded, mabari chitin and all stuff can sell if you stay stocked and have reasonable prices
Thanks in advance for the help.

It all depends on what market your targetting. If you wanna be like everyone else and try to build nothing but the biggest and baddest PVP armor (ie. composite) then you might as well not bother (unless you plan on charging at least 30% less than everyone else) because there's always places to get that stuff. I, personally, will never craft composite armor (mainly cause of lack of skill pts to allocate but) because i don't wanna add more robocops to the overcrowded population of robocops. I really like the wookie and lower end armors because theyare more detailed and interesting. My target market is new to mid-range players (especially wookies) so I get to actually enjoy crafting different types of armor instead of factory running robocop parts. Plus I make tons selling good bone/mabari 4 piece suits on the eisley bazaar (all noobs want some kind of armor). Granted, with variety production, variety resources are required so I'm constantly running out of space to put stuff.
I'm only a 7 pt 'smitty (and will probably be that way for a very long time) but I enjoy what I do, so it's all inyour target market.
