well hopefully composite will still remain the best crafted armor, cuz it would be a major waste of time and money if another armor became better

Correct me if im wrong, but wouldnt harvesting your own materials in anticipation of this update be A lot cheaper than buying high end, expensive resources?

all those layer materials and hides are still useful in other armor should composite no longer be viable

Wow, never seen so much whining in one post. About time all the 100 miilion credit composite smiths get to find out what it is to be an armorsmith.

So..... if I get this right....we want only one armorpiece that covers the whole body...one that only takes one component (any metal for instance)....get rid of all layers (too confusing, the armor should just not be vulnerable to anything)...oh and we need to be able to make a huge profit on it too.

Most 100 mil credit smiths have had a rough time in the start before you break escape velocity so to speak. It took me 5 months of playing to go above 10mil.

This is the most retarded thing I have seen to date. What the **edited**.

Honestly though guys, when was the last time a profession or race bitched enough to get there way?
besides wookie armor. This game is becomming more and more like what the players want, than what Lucas Arts wants. If you can handle the game than quit, you bought it, made a lowsy investment because you cannot handle it. So quit. Dont **edit** and moan and make it harder for everyone. It just starts a ripple affect. One group gets there way, another will **edit** and moan.

And the DWB, when was the last time Boba Fett Killed all this **edit** to get his mando armor?

First of all, the fact that the nerf is coming shouldn't necessarily be a surprise. If you pay attention at all to the boards, you'll notice one of the biggest complaints in PvP is the fact that everyone is running around in composite. Then there is talk of the combat rebalance, where the devs have stated that things are going to change.

If you couldn't anticipate that composite wasn't scheduled for a nerf, then you deserve to loose 200 million credits.

If you actually think that it is a good thing, that the only armor that should be made is composite, then you are in the minority.

Looking at your argument, I'm not sure how you come up with the argument that armor is going to be more expensive. The only thing I can come up with, is that you think that composite will no longer be in demand and noone will want it. Somehow, I don't think that will be the case.

Looking at your calculations, if you payed 50 cpu for all those resources, then you deserve to loose 200 million credits. Only the Wooly Hide is probably worth that much, and you only have 30K units of that. Your cost investment is way over inflated.

To go back to the goal of the upcoming combat rebalance, is so that there is no FotM, so that there is diversity. With the current stats of high end composite, you can't have it.

Finally, for you comment on the Bone, I checked swgcraft, the only thing I can think of what you are talking about is the Urerl Correllian Animal Bone (oq=969 sr=954). First, you are offering 5-10 cpu, kinda odd that you would offer scouts 5-10 cpu, yet value Metal at 50 cpu. In my galaxy, 5cpu is what I'd expect to pay for grind quality scout harvested resources, and that is what you are offering. Next, Correllia isn't like Endor or Dath, where elite combat professionals can go hunt and get lots of resources per animal, so at 10cpu, it isn't going to seem too attractive. I don't know how you "attempted to get some people to hunt for it", but I'm guessing that there are better ways then how you did do it (ex. Radiant Trade Form, "WTB Current Spawn of Cor Animal Bone, paying n cpu").

I'd have to say, that if someone asked me to hunt for bone on corellia, and all they offered me in return was 5-10cpu, I'd probably respond with a response similar to the ones you got (with the exception of the first, that one was just rude), because it isn't worth it to go hunt stuff (especially on a newbie planet) for someone elses custom order at 10 cpu.

To your comment about how sometimes it feels like it's another job. Well, in all honesty, if you are going to be playin an MMO, and you want to excel at it, and be one of the best, whether it's a crafter, or a combatant, it's gonna take work, and sometimes, it is gonna feel like a job, because that extra work, is what is going to make you one of the best.

Finally, the combat rebalance is going to change things. Things are going to be different, crafting, armor, weapons, combat specials, everything. That is pretty much undisputed, the question really is how are things going to change, and how are you going to react to it. You have several options on how to handle the big change:
-You can guess what is going to happen, and prepare yourselfbase on thus assumptions
-You can continue as it is now, and hope for the best
-You can do nothing
-You can whine about it

There are probably a few other options you can do, but it appears that Elitros is going to do the latter.

Trust me on this..

Patch comes out.. Chitin is now good and allows for 3 layers (possible)

Demand rockets

Armorsmiths are pushed to make it

Armorsmiths see good in shift resource and bid against each other in an effort to get the resource

Cost to produce then rockets

End cost to potential buyer is reflectant of cost to produce

-Composite is now cheaper to make then Chitin but chitin offers lower ham and not quite as good base. Composite is still then in essence better then Chitin but costs less.. Same goes with padded

Composite 1 Organic vs. 8 inorganic

Chitin6 organic vs. 2 inorganic

Padded... .If I buy and harvest resources at 3per how can I compare with resources I need to pay 30cpu for.

Alright.. sobeit that Composite gets the nerf.. Other armor get the revamp and improved.. Now what? Okay we will have Padded armor thats good.. great thats a nice thought I now need to try to find 1mil units of new hide to produce this armor.. hmm I guess that will cost me 50+ cpu.. I am overjoyed at the thought that I need 10x the hunter gathered hides etc..

Be warned.. Armor is about to become way more expensive from this here AS. Take a look at what I have amassed.

Units of resource ie. 5mil = 50 x 100k Stacks

Layers:

5mil Metal (1850+ oq/sr)

7mil Amorph. Gems (1850+)

2mil Polymer (1800+)

2mil Crism Sil (1400)

2mil Vertex (1800+)

Segments:

1.5mil Kirrium

2mil Polysteel

3mil Colat

Makes 21basesegments on its own and goes for 35base with 3 layers... (23% @ experimentation)

Armor:

5mil Aluminum (1700+)

2mil Beyr. Copper (1600+)

5mil Intrusive Ore (1900+)

5mil Naboo Fiberplast (1800+)

5mil Solid Petro (900+)

1.5mil Wooly Hide (1600+)

Alright now thats out of the way how much did I spend on it all.... Oh just a measily 200+ million credits and counting.. It makes 80/80/70-72 base armor and 39% Stun.. With this revamp what do I really do with all of it.. I guess its almost worthless if another armor becomes better then the one I currently make I am totaly **edit**ed. I am very concerned about these changes.. Especialy about the resources that other armors take to assemble although I have 70mil units total in my reserves this is going to really hurt bad I feel..

/cry

You've been specualting with resources and you lost, it's not different from the guy playing on the stock market.

You can either have a lot of cash available or have little liquidities and a lot invested, you obviously decided to invest a lot...

You have 10 times too many ressources and I speak as the biggest selling AS on my server....

5 millions naboo fiber ? that's 19k suits....

You got 2 choices when stockpiling resources :

1) Keep high stocks and take some risks in case something changes or a better resources spawns

2) Keep averaged stocks and be at risk if there is a 6 month long shortage of a specific resources and being forced to pay top $ for restock...

Its okay man.. I am alright with the way it right now. .I have 40 factories and am about to pump out 500 suits a week for 150k per.. These will either sell to people or re-sellers and I am not at all worried about anything because Composite will still be a good armor probably remain the best just with different stats.

The other thing about resources is they go up in price and naboo fiber of the kind I have is the best ever.. I can sell to people for much more then the 3-5per I paid.. 1300k wooly hide is wooly hide.. All the rest it doesnt matter I have almost already made back my investment and have all these resources to show for it as well.

Alrighty.. here we go more ignorance..

Today I noticed on swgcraft.com that we have 980oq 940sr Bone which will be great for Chitin.. I attempted to get some people to hunt for it.. 5-10cpu..

RESPONSES:

-Go get your own bone you lazy **edit**.

-Why would I do that Avian gets 150per

-LoL you are joking right

-hahaha

*amongst other rude things said.

I said you know what fine screw you if Chitin is any good after the patch you wont have it because I wont make it. If you honestly think this will make it easier on a noob smith think again.. Lower level armor as of now will be more expensive to make always and have fun not trying to get the stuff for 50cpu for everything which it will be.
