Times for me went down. My layers now take 184 seconds each and my advanced comp segments take 240.

Doro,
Im really wandering if thats not part of the reasoning. I understand its a fix and it might truly be one. But it wasnt a fix anyone was asking for. It feels like more of a way of slowing down the flood of materials into the economy. If you take someone like me who can keep 14 factories going for grenades (not a boast using an example) and i could average 4000 items in 2 days. Now that times gone up to three and it will slow down how many i have for sale. But the flip side is that in slowing us down it has the potential for increasing the cost of the items. But I don't see that happening as much.
I was most suprised on the PGS because i just never heard of a factory run taking long.

Wow, I think this is utterly ridiculous. Considering the amount of time it took anyway to make a full run of Kinetic Comp Armor, or PSGs... don't get me started on PSGs... so many other components are needed for those anyway so this will just increase the amount of time to make a run of PSGs.
This will really affect those who sell their stuff at a high rate and are constantly running things in the factory.
Anyone know the ratio of time to complexity?
I'm pretty sure it's always been 8 seconds/point. I haven't ran anything in a few months, but I'm about 90% sure that was the number...

Factory time seemed to more than double, just by looking at the PSG production rate now. It went from i lbelieve 260 to 528 now. Between this and the fact that they obviously rushed to add ithorian armor. 9 colors, come on. Using the same resources asits counterpartsof normal armor, even uses the same segs, also tells me they rushed to get it in, but i'm not complainin bout that. Wouldn't be surprised if that ended up changin tho eventually. Increased factory times pushed me over the edge tho. Yesterday i made my last run of PSGs and 1 ithorian suit for a friend and then i dropped AS and the rest of my crafting skills. I'm done with crafting altogether. Had to keep merchant tho so i could sell off my current stock and all my crafting stuff. Good luck to the rest of u tho.

Its ridiculous for them to "fix" something like this while things that are actually damaging to gameplay are left in. First, they totally destroyed the xp for a factory, and now I have to dump even more credits into my factories to keep them running longer. I don't know what this was damaging, but its "Not Fun" and needs reversed back to what it was. Its already bad enough that I am FORCED to use factory-created items in crafting, now I have to wait way too long before I can even craft.
I can only assume that this is to prevent a flood of Starship related items from hitting the market when JTL goes live. Perhaps there is a worry that the "non-existant database issues" will crop back up again with the influx of items sure to come with JTL, but if thats the case then once again WE are being punished for the short-sightedness of the Game Development team.
Not once, ever, since Beta, have I heard anyone say that "factory times are just too short". Never have I seen a post telling us exactly how factory times are figured. It seems safe to assume that "the Powers that Be" needed a way to reduce database space and found that increasing factory times will reduce the number of new items created in any given week EVEN THOUGH 50 ITEMS IN A CRATE TAKES 1 DATABASE SLOT, BUT 50 HANDCRAFTED ITEMS TAKE 50 SLOTS.
You can rest assured that I can far outstrip a factory when it comes to hand-crafting items, so I'm going to reserve my factories for the things I have to have identical pieces of such as armor layers and segments and advanced droid brains. I can handcraft much, much faster than even the old factory times, the new times just means I'll be able to put some factories away and stop wasting money and power on them.
Lame Dev's, really lame.

Canon Fodder,
Good point, I keep fogetting about the devs wanting to limit the items... but isn't that what the change in vendors was for?
GraySeven,
Unless the Devs have heard the crys of the guys in the JTL Beta, starshipsand their components can not be factory made. I think countermeasures and something else will be able to be factory made... but I for one wouldn't want to be a shipwright based onno factory made components... that would suck, having to spend the majority of my time making components by hand and limiting my time in other aspects of the game. But some people like doing that and they will be rolling in money, my hat off to them.

I can understand major components for starships not being factory made, and it just makes sense that Chassis...(Man, can we get this changed to Hulls, I mean really, a ship has a Hull and a car has a Chassis) cannot be factory runs based on the sheer amount of resources alone. Can you imagine loading up millions of resources for a 10 or 20 ship run?
However, consumables need to be crateable. Things like missles and chaff and such that are used need to be factory able. And I don't see why smaller components couldn't be factory run.
That being said, it doesn't appear that factory times have increased for all items. The biggest time increase I see is on final combine items. Components still seem to have near the same times, depending on how or if you experiment them.
A run of PSG Mk 3's that initially took 4 days is now going to take over a week, however. Thats just absurd.

I think the manufacture time for my stun layers went down while the comp segments definately increased. I'm not looking forward to the PSG run I had planned.
My question, if the complexity of the item increased, did the experience as well?

Stun layers increased also from 320 to 384 I belive
but whats the big deal another lot trade and you have 10 extra factorys ..... it isn't a deathblow to crafting just some increase in the cost so little increase in the prices

Another lot trade? I don't think I could manage that unless I bought another account! I think most of us are more concerned with getting the resources and use our lots for harvestors... I know I do. I've already given up one more lot to a factory and that really irked me... but that was for the PSGs I started to make which required a lot of crafted components for the final product.
I think the main thing for me is that I hate transferring cost to the consumer. I try to keep my cost low by getting the resources and things like that. But I'm afraid the the entire community will be seeing a slight increase in prices, but we'll have to wait a couple of weeks to really determine that.
