I tested the use of 1 to 6 on experimenting points at the time of crafting and ive noticed the following results;


Doing just 1 point at a time I dont fail at all. Im almost always getting greatly or amazings.


Doing 2 points, I will fail around .075% of the time.


Doing 3% is where it seems to be noticeably different. Doing 3 points per experimentation try, I seem to get crit fails around 5% of the time.


4 points at a time raises it to around 12 to 15%.


5 points seems to adjust the crit fails at around 25% of time.


6 points is dangerous at best. I was failing 35% of time.


I didnt dare try over 6 points at a time, because I was limited on cores at the time. I am currently a 1/4/0/1 in force crafting as well, with a +21 experimentation suit and +17 assembly. So in essence, I have found that if its something I want to be assured of a success, I do 1 at a time, which allthough is time consuming, its still much safer than the alternatives.

today when i was making a set of tantel armor i failed 4 times in a row on both barcers, helmet and chest plate


thx god it was affecting condition and i have the chance to max the experimentation with poinths that left


is it valcyn or every server got that problem

last night was getting a factory run of armor cores going and took me like 5 or 6 tries to get a schematic that didn't have a critical failure... way too much imho.


BTW +113 experiment +119 assembly suit worn at the time too with crafting crafting food and drink. This was on Tempest

Aye last night i had a whole slew of critfailed experiments. Havent had a problem with assembly but experimentation realy went down the drain for me last night.


I havent had this rate of failure since I was grinding as to be honest. +20 port, +28 experimentation suit. Definately sticks out to me as since the CU I've yet to have more than 1 failure of any kind untill last night where I got about 8 in a rather tight grouping. (At least once every 3-7th item)

Not failed once on a suit - i have failed a LOT on segments and layers

I am thinking it is the inspiration buff. I am a master crafter and was making some electronics last night, trying to get the elusive crit success. I was hitting a lot of amazings with my cake, got full and waited a while. I then decided to get my inspriation buff refreshed and got nothing but great successes. I am thinking maybe those aren't such a good things to get.

Cone to think of it, there's a known issue with experience loss upon surrendering skills when buffed (or Jedi xp loss). Maybe a - sign flipped somewhere? I'm going to bring this to Dev attention because it seems like too much of a coincidence to me.

I Agree, it is way worse now.



The Worsed i'v ever had so far was while making Battle enhanced seg's for some Battle armor, get this i Faled 7 times in 5 min's and got 2 amazings in the same time frame.



On avg if i get an amazing i start biteing my nales cuss it seem's when i get them i will fale with in the next few Trys. and most of the time its bad too 2-3 in a row or 2 then one Great then another Fale.


Also i'v noted When investing more then 5 Points at a time it seem's to Spwn the Faled Exp's, i get less if i stick to under 5 points at a time, even though my Chance to fale is 0 on the right hand chart

I haven't been an AS for long, only for about a week. (One of those respec' AS... except I'm AS to stay)


On my experimentation rates. I experiment usually two bars at a time. I live in one of those crafting-bonused cities and get amazing successes a lot.


Now, for the failure rate, critical failures come... once in every 2-3 suits of armor I make. I will get those at least once.


I've been a WS before as well, and if I were to compare, my critical failures in WS were far less than the number of crit fails in AS... but WS was also pre-CU (and when I was WS experimenting, I was not in the crafting bonused city). Maybe the CU has something to do with this. /shrug

same here.. not a single one in assembly, or experimentation. I have a +50 exp suit, and I'm 3/1/0/0 crafting mastery.

Try replacing your crafting Tools.


I was have this problem, pre-CU and had contacted CSR and he/she recommanded to me to replace my crafting tools. Had them forever.


After replacing my crafting tools, the failure went away, that was pre CU, but I have only made a few RIS pieces post CU as I have been playing other toons, and have not seen any problems on them.


There is a hidden condition on tools that you can see when you clone, so it might make sence to replace them when you clone, I am also wondering if the condition or age of the tool comes into the calulation.

I h ave a perfect crafting station and tools (one day patch), the +20 suit, the food, the drinks, the ent buffs.. i've gotten to where I accept the fact that I will have a critical failure in at least one of every suit I craft. Therefore, I've resorted to the tedious task of experimenting one point at a time (instead of two).
