Im still churning out about the same amount or armor, maybe a little less. The above give good advice try geting your hands on some resource kits and start collecting high end materials of anything thats available. Hides,Steel and such. I'm planning on waiting till the day or two before its available and pulling everything off my vendors at that time, the Encumbrance sliced stuff may end up working well, or maybe we can trade it in. Hard to say but its worth the time to plan ahead. Also dont forget this Combat Balance/Combat Upgrade has been coming for over a year now "cough cough" and while it loooks like it will happen this time dont shoot yourself in the foot not crafting only to fall behind when it does finally hit, if nothing else the Nuetrals are going to need armor.

I am hiring hunters to gather all types of Good hide. This accomplishes 2 things, 1) it will allow me to craft other armor after the CU and gives me a chance to have what I need to make the new armor... Also I would keep an eye out for other resources (metals and chemicals) that are spawning with the ususal high stats. This will at worst give you a bung of generic good resources...

I'm still chugging along, not making huge runs of armor or using the best of the best resources, but my armor is still selling off my vendors at a half-way decent rate, and it's not exactly the best armor on the server, but my prices reflect that.

After today's CU notes, I think the best thing any of us can do to prepare can be summed up with a quote fromAnimal House.

Bluto: My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.
Otter: Better listen to him, Flounder. He's pre-med.

I have a newly minted master armorsmith in the waiting, but atm, have been rather hesitant in gathering any resources. Specifically, I want to manufacture Imperial faction armor, and unless I have missed something, no schematics/resource requirements have been listed. I have been lucky to get armor exp attachments for what I feel was a bargain (paying approx 1 mil per point on what I have had to buy - a plus 5 and plus 6 thus far).

So what are you doing to be prepared for the post CU factional armor?

who knows, today's composite might become tomorrow's "buying pre CU nerf composite"

Not gonna happen.. You must have missed the part that it said all reexisting armor and segs and crates will be altered Personally i think 3 layer kin comp and stun comp will become a thing of the past.. soo if someone has lots of stock they might be totally stuck.. Just like chefs as they are removing secondardys.. soo with no idea how the food will change all that aris might become not soo great anymore. With no mind are people gonna be pounding brandy? I know that is food but i dont expect armor crafting to be the same.

Hmm. You know now that you mention it, do you think it would be a good idea to make a ton of armor and leave it crated till after the CU? Like whats gonna happen with existing armor in the new system?Like should we make a ton of our best possible stuff then crate it away and hope for the best, or sell off everything we have before the CU?

If you want to have a safety net, the best thing to do would be to invest some time making a lot of schematics, but don't actually produce the armour. It's boring and needs careful planning, as you'll need to produce layer schematics, manufacture enough to make seg schematics, then make enough of those to make final armour piece schematics. You'll also need to carefully plan and manufacture the fiberpanels and synthcloth to accompany these, and set aside the resources needed to actually make all that stuff if it turns out to be desirable.

I know I don't have the patience to do that, but if you're worried about it, there is the potential for a huge payback (like the crafters who churned out loads of schems on Patch Day then sold the pieces for absurd amounts of cash once they reverted to the old system). The resource investment is minimal, it's just your time spent planning, calculating and crafting.

What did they do with wookie and Ilthorian armor? ive never made it or even looked at the schems for it. Were they clones of other armor forumlas, or whole new resource ingrediants?

The only thing im doing right now is collecting resources for padded, ubese and composite for after the CU. Since armor weapons and damage are all getting "altered" they claim there will be no #1 type of armor like there is right now with composite.

I also have 4 resource deeds laying around for any new types of hide the new armor might require.

my thoery is a night of Binge drinking with one of the off shot dev's slurring " OKay... Ow bout dis.."

Wookie and ithorian will (I so can't say "most" knowing Sony) be like the rest of the armors. WHAT I AM HOPING, is that sony adds in some new wook and ithorian armor with this new expansion. Would feel jiped if the wooks I deal with are still running around as "the Florida panthers" in those suits. knee pads? serious, call those leggings?

As for preparing, go along as useual, and when it does happen you'll be ready, just don't over stock on segs and layers and your fine.the armor them selves will change.

personaly am happy with this CU because lately I've been another Comp (beep)

hides are number one, same with bone and polymer. fiberplast would be good too. as for metals, enough metal to last you to Cu and over.

the Dev's have dropped alot of hints to prepare.

The best armor now, may not be the best armor after the CU. Since most go for high base and ignore encum, these suits may be more of problem than anything.
If H/A/M is going to mean more after the CU, than we all need to change the way we make armor now or it will not carry over well.

Ya, I've been starting to make mixed armor already. My guild thinks am crazy and keep chanting the favourite mantra " What HAM".

meh, just getting ready for things.

I think it would tick me off more if totaly got ready for this, and it doesn't really effect us and it's business as useual
