That's awesome! But my point was directed towards the novice armorsmiths, not new master smiths. Novice armorsmiths are not trying to (and shouldn't be trying to) compete with master armorsmiths.

I think: U cant compete with masters... But u can make enough money to make the next suit and so on... A good idea is getting master artisan and sell vehicles! Just look after the new ones who needs armor but cannot afford anything else than the mabari u craft... Else u can of course buy for 100k resources and grind all the nigth... Us that dont have that many money have to do it the slow way...

But at the bazaar u can easily sell mabari pieces for 1-2k if they have a base of 6%... I can...

Visit my vendor at -5963, 4311 1km from Theed on the Ahazi server...

I became profitable making about 30%/15% Chitin once i reached either 1-0-0-3 or 1-0-0-4. My advice:

Yes, you can get by. No you can't compete with the masters for about 4-6 months or so total.

This is not due to knowledge, it is purely due to resources. For this reason, plan on starting to horde as much of the specific resources as possible, as well as 1 or two really high quality non-specific Steel, Iron, Ore, Polymer, Fiberplast, Copper, and Aluminum. In about1-3 months, when you get to master, you should then be able to make servicable Ubese, as well as poor-medium composite. After this point, you can raise funds, resources without a grind for xp to support, and become competitive.

The key is to get your harvester armada up to speed ASAP. I suggest either Rate 10 Mediums (most efficient) or Rate 13 Heavies (most resources)if you can afford em. You can either buy power, or buy 1 fusion if you can afford it eventually. Don't waste lots on solar or wind, the yield isn't enough to run the harvies by itself, and you will make more profit by selling resources at 3cpu, buying the power at less than that, and using it to run your harvies. Get 6 or 7 harvies on useful stuff, and keep it, run missions to afford resources to support your grind, unless there is nothing worth harvesting, then put your harvesters to use for grind quality stuff.

New Armorsmith can make a place very easily. Once most smiths get to Master they forget about everything else and focus primarily on Comp. You can almost never find Ubese or Maburi except on the bazaar. Granted most everyone wants Comp. but ther are still alot of people who would like a colorful suit of Maburi or a decent set of Ubese thats priced according to how you can make it.

I have to agree. Upon reaching master, the request for Composite armors is so great I rarely have time to even make Ubese or Wook armor.

Find your niche on your climb to Master status. PSGs and AUKs are another great way to earn an income for a new player that hasn't had the luxury of time to collect kickass resources.

As was mentioned, grab harvestors and being mining resources. Become aware of the resources you will need for Composite and Avanced Composite, Stun layers and Kinetic layers. These are my biggest sellers.

Good luck, and welcome!

Totally forgot to mention this. I make tons of PSG's (Imperial prototype) and they make me a nice income. During the last month, i have had about 600 of these on my vendor, sold about 60 of em or so, and made about 1.5mil in income. With the crappy resources required on all subcomponents, they are a great way to get rid of old grind/outdated specifics. I sell my 34% Balanced Shields for 30k apiece. I could lower the price, but I don't really need to sell much quicker than I do.
