Thread: Your opinion on my new RIS helmet.

My issue with the acid at 13% would be that you're going to be taking more damage than you would if it was a vuln most of the time. It'll block a little bit of AP1 acid pistol damage, but with a DXR6b you're going to be getting hit for more damage because of the AP2 rating than if it was a vuln, as well as decaying the armor extremely quickly.
Still, an awesome helmet and great achievement, I'm just not sure I would've gone the same route (no vulns).
Keuller, it is my understanding this is not the case (but I could be wrong). A lightly armoured (or any other armour level)object with stun vulnerability, for instance is treated as AR 0 for purposes of penetration damage calculation from stun weaponry, it is not such that the AP/AR effect is ignored. Therefore a vulnerable armour (or rather armoured person) will suffer more damage from a vulnerability than a low resist armour from a high penetration weapon, such as a T21. The same should apply for condition loss (aside from shields) but I'm less sure of that.
I havent tested this, admittedly, but I soon will with some armour I'm manufacturing. If it not as described above this should be an issue we should bring to the attention of the developers as it would be highly contradictory if a physicalpiece of vulnerable armour should protect more than a low resist physical armourin ANY SITUATION concerning that weapon type.
Shields, however, shouldnt lose condition from vulnerabilities perhaps, given their somewhat ephemeral defense technique they wouldnt be affected by kinetic etc based weapons if they cant stop them. (i.e. its difficult to effect a magnetic field with a piece of wood). However, an acid weapon, for instance, would still need to physically penetrate, and hence physically damage or disrupt, normal, physical armour. Resulting in a loss of condition.
Anyway, can anyone support or dispute this?

I can test this to make sure.
