Thread: 70% base 80% kinetic 79% electric..what is your price?
I kinda cringe when I see such high base on comp using layers that protect against a common damage type. I would definitely cry if I got an effectiveness slice that raised the base to 90% while my kinetic resist was stuck at 80% due to it now being a special protection.
This of course is my personal opinion and since it was stated on a board somebody will come along and tell me I am nuts.

Yes, I realize this as I am slowly building trying to build a 90% suit (only have the helmet so far, all the other pieces keep getting sliced for encumbrance

If you use Night Sister layers you won't move the kinetic to special protection. Example I just made a helmet on Kettemoor that is 80%ele/heat/cold (rancor hide) special protect. And the Base is 80% ham 10/0/290. This is usinging 7%base layer and 4%base layer and 8%base layer.
). Nightsister layers and krayt segments aren't anything you can use to mass produce anything so I didn't bother to mention those.

Nope. You're not nuts at all. I too believe it's a shame to limit kinetic to 80% in this situation. I can think of3 reasons to make it this way though.
1 - What kind of base are you getting with electric, cold or some other "un-used" damage type? For me...68% w/ electric or 69% with kinetic. (Just had some new polymer spawn...maybe 70% tonight..:smileywink
2 - It will provide a market for the encumbracne sliced pieces. (Though what's the point...it's still gonna be heavy.)
3 - Some people just don't listen to others that may understand this. They just want "U r best uber kintetic comp wit 80% ...but cheap..an wit lot ov stun too d00d"
I sell 68% base/ 80% Kinetic for 450k suit. A set of 75% Ubese goes for 250k and a suit of wookie armor 24% base 58% kinetic is 80k.
