Wow! Were they a private or something. Bio-linking is based on rank only.

fellow guildmate who gave me the FP to buy the schematics in the first place. Wasnt some customer bitching about it or anything.

I seriously doubt rank has anything to do with costs, and I should be able to verify this in the next few days.
Rank only affects two things: your FP cap and the FP loss ratio when delegating FP's to another player (if you are master smuggler).
The high costs in this thread were probably people buying on the planet they happened to be on, instead of taking the time to travel to the planet with best ratio. Or they were non-humans suffering the imperial faction penalty.

It's rebel armor. So no factional penalty. Also supposedly non humans arnt supposed to pay more FP to bio-link. Folk have at least said itw asupposed to be the same. Also planetary modifiers were only supposed to apply to buying the schematics. NOT bio-linking the suit to the wearer. And if it is a planetary modifier. Then that is severely messed up. But I've a few other suits made from the same schematic and I'll get him to test it out on another planet.

Ok well I just had a Rebel Colonel who was also a master smuggler biolink a full suit of assault armor. At the time he also had an inspiration buff. Not sure if that affects it though but...
Here's the breakdown of the costs.
Gloves/Boots: 500FP each
Bracers/Biceps: 800FP each
Helmet/Chest/Leggings: 1000FP each
Total cost: 7200 FP to biolink
Planetary Score: 237 Rebel - 31 Imperial

Maybe its a bug....but i only paid 5 fp per bio-linked piece. Thats right, 5! I had leggings, boots, and the chest plate. I am only certed for battle, but I had the recon stuff, so I dont know if that is why. Anyways......just wanted to let y'all know.

That's cause you bio-linked pre-CU armor. Pre-Cu armor only costs 5 a piece.

Actually, this only proves that rank DOES matter - you've got the wrong variable in this scenario. It's possible that both of those people would have been paying higher or lower amounts if the GCW status had been different.
The scenario that would prove the point about a GCW effect, would be to have 2 equally-ranked humans of OPPOSITE faction pay for bio-linking on the same planet at the same time. Unless my logic is way off.
I went to two different planets to check the bio-linking costs. They were identical depsite having different ratios (ie schems cost me more on one planet than other.)
Two customers on the same planet paid different amounts. So far the only difference I can see in bio-linking is rank.

Got stats for a full suit of Adv Recon Rebel Armor. Was a Rebel Colonel on a planet Rebs winning by about 75 points.
900 FP each for Chest, Helm and Legs
720 Per Arm Armor Piece
450 for the Boot and Gloves
Total was 2700 + 2880 + 900 = 6480 Faction
