I can't think of a single reason that would support that happening. Reality, canon, logic, etc... It all supports Jedi using other weapons and abilities when necessary.

Annakin was still an engineer as a padawan. Luke was still a pistoleer as a padawan. Obi Wan used a pistol in combat.

Well the weapons lvl system is a joke. Maybe non-Jedi should be able to use a saber? Grievous was a robot but was trained in the art of LS. So why can't non Jedi? That would SUCK if it happend. Certainly any player should able able to shot a pistol. But weapon certs need to come back. Otherwise everyone will get MBH and 4000 Healer. Non-Jedi weapons already out damage sabers. So now people will out damage a Jedi and have the same healing too.

Grievous was half robot half alien and he had to have some connection with the force to do that.

Fix: higher level jedi will not have secondary skills. Want to fight only against a lightsaber and force? Pick higher bounties.

Pretty simple, eh?

so he pops a ruby and throws an extra 2500 back to his health bar in 30 seconds.

What damn Stim is he using ? Stim F ? The best I've seen for a Stim D is 1100 +. Thats 2 - 2.2k + in 1 minute, a Jedi can outheal that in 4 seconds.

Pretty sure I have a crate of stim Ds somewhere on my alt that hit for 1200 something per shot. But, ok, 2.2. Or 2.3. Whatever.

Any droid can wield a pistol.

But then again if we go by your logic and ask ourselves, "What happened to Order 66?" we can see that things don't exactly follow the movies very well.

It failed. Even in the movies, the Jedi came back.

If the Jedi still has non-jedi skills that enable them to weild a non-jedi weapon, well, then whats the problem?

Or are you saying that once you go Jedi, you should be forced to surrender all non-jedi skills?

Well if you want to try and look at it from the original posters point of view you realize that the system is set up so that you lose force when you heal and when you use a lightsaber and by our perception that forms a sort of balance. But if you use a non-lightsaber your attack no longer draws from your force and you are able to heal for a much longer period of time.

But jedi will just say "well he can do that if he wants" so it's really no point to say anything except "go jedi or quit"

I don't quite think I understand what you mean by "balance" here?

Say I'm a Mhealer, MDefender, Saber 4004 right? And I'm not real rich, so I can't afford a set of 4 flawless pearls, so I end up with 2 flawless pearls and 2 good pearls in an average saber (not a top of the line). I'm hittin critters my level in PvE for 300dmg a pop, which sucks, admittedly. But I can heal and take a punch as good as anybody in the game, so my fights are a little on the slow side, but I win by attrition. I notice that I can go out and grab a Advanced Laser Rifle for about 40k on any old WS vendor around, increase my range, and increase my damage. I'm no where near as good with it as a rifleman, since I don't have the speed mods or the accuracy mods. But I'm still managing to do pretty good damage with it just range shotting.

So, here comes Mr. Bounty Hunter to kill me. He's MBH, MRifle, and some pistoleer for good measure. Mr. Bounty Hunter catches me grinding with my saber, and for the first bit of the fight, he's outdamaging me by large amounts. I weather the storm with my healing as he roots me and runs back out to 50 meters (beyond my saber throw range). So, I bust out with my rifle, and start shootin back. He's still easily outdamaging me with his rifle (he's faster, has higher dmg specials, a top of the line krayted T21, and more accuracy), but I find that I'm actually producing more damage than I was with my saber. I manage to put enough damage on him that he has need to do some healing, so he pops a ruby and throws an extra 2500 back to his health bar in 30 seconds.

This fight goes on and on and on. He is able to toss tremendous amounts of damage on me, but I am able to keep myself standing with my superior healing. I can do some damage to him at any range, but he can keep using stims and ruby.

What's balanced about this? We're both using peices of equipment that are non-skill-certified to our advantage (stims, rifle).

What's not balanced about this? He's able to use a non-cert peice of equipment (stim) to compensate for a deficientcy in his template, whereas I have 48 skill points, 6.02mill Jedi XP, and around 10 mil credits invested in a weapon & skillset and a non-cert weapon for which I have no modifiers and spent 45k on (pups and slice included) is an attractive alternative for me.

What I mean is that your force pool is designed to be drained from both healing and attacking...but when you are not losing force from attacking that increases the life of your force pool. It's likely something the Devs didn't think about. Without using a portion of your force pool to attack, how long could the average 100kish jedis force pool last? Obviously even you can see the flaw thata jedi (albeit a low level one) is better off using something else besides their lightsaber.

WHAT??? So your saying just to hold a saber he had to have a conneciton with the force? Thats BS and you know it. He was mostly a robot and was able to weild the saber because he had robot reflexs and was trained in saber techniques by Dooku.

Well, maybe they could make it so if a Jedi is using another weapon other than a Lighsaber he could not use any Force Powers at all. Now don't come saying the other professions can - Jedi are a completeley separate profession.

IDEA !

QUIT WHINING !

Go out, grind jedi healing 4000 and stack it with BH if you think its so "UBER" "CHEAP" or whatever.

OR OMFG ... Try adding CM or DOC ! they heal just as well as a jedi.

I have both a BH and a Jedi Knight. I can kill jedi knights on BH and I can kill Bhs on my Jedi .... KNOW WHY ?

CAUSE RATHER THAN WHININ "NERF !"... I practiced, practiced, saw what worked and didnt and adjusted accordingly.

LEARN SOME BH SKILLS !
