congrats though
Lucky **edit**!!!! LOL, maybe we can make a combine deal lol i can make the helm chest and legs and boots you make the rest and we sell it and split it LOL j/k ![]()
I made a "Neer" full suit for a customer today, helm, chest, legs, boots and gloves
Used regular segs, NO NS layers only 2 of my very special double amazing kinetic layers (listed above), and 1 janta hide 3%, Segs came out to 48% kinetic and 30% base, hame was a little higher though, but on the finals i got 80% kinetic and 72% base not bad lol, with an interwoven seg adding in a 3% yellow geno cube abd switching to 3 4% base 10% kinetic layer i think i can get 80/80 or dang close maybe 78-79% base.

Yup, this isn't nearly the accomplishment it used to be. I made five pieces in one sitting a few nights ago (and kept two scales for myself). I'm lined up to make another complete suit in the next couple of days, and will keep a scale or two from that.
Part of me is glad that RIS is getting out there more, despite the fact that I did my suit old-school, but I sincerely hope that people don't think getting a full suit is the accomplishment that it once was (the guy I'm making the suit for got 10 scales in one drop).

Ya I had a guy bring me 8 scale last night, hes despretly trying to get a 9th but hes got a 8/9 suit of RIS now, I used my new methed for this with regular segs, since he did not want to pay the extra for the interwoven LOL
every peice came out 80% kinetic with 70-73% base, the helm and chest got amazings on final and was able to push to 73 on helm and 72 on chest, 70-71% was average with only greats. w00t
The 2 kinetic layers were 3% base 14% kinetic but double amazings, 96% on resistance and 69% on quality on the layer
the segments came out to 27% base and 48% kinetic, it took only 2 points in the special on the final to get 78% kinetic, but if i got amazing pushed it to 80, leaving 10 points for quality (base), most of the time i would use 3 in kinetic and then dump 9 in base, and hope for a strong amazing lol
this again was with regular segments, not the interwoven.
I have yet have one person want me to use stun or acid layers in the RIS...

that is because most people only want display or starport armor.

true, Personally i would not like to chew up a suit of armor like this from a light saber lol, even if i used stun layers i could get 40% stun and well over 70% base but kinetic would blow unless you sacrifice base %.
And i would not like my helm to get chewed up from jawa ions lol, even with stun layers thell still chew them up...

Thanks. I have (3) 7% NS layers, i need to find eather %8 or %9 layers now.
JZeus-Sarono wrote:
that is (1) 8% and (1) 9% to answer that one.
but that was way over powered, i did not need to put that much into it, you can if you want to hit 80/80 for sure lol but with great final assembly resources all you need to hit on the segment is 41% base and 33% kinetic
Once again the combine was...
1 kinetic layer
3% base
14% kinetic
14/14/14 ham
1 NS layer 8% base
1 NS layer 7% base
1 Geno cube 3% (if you get higher % geno cube you can lower the % of a NS layer that value)
1 3% janta hide (same applies here if you use a 5% hide you can lower a laer by 2% so you can say.. loer 1 7% laer to a more comon 5% etc etc)
with all greats youll get 41-41% base and 33% kinetic, but this is with some quite good RIS resources i might say, nothing super uber but some nice stuff, if your resources are par or sub par bump up the layer base to compensate
I hope this little bit more detail helps

Same here but for some other reasons. I like the clean look you get from not adding those layers. The resists gets more symetric and the ham more pleasing to the eye.

Actually I am making my RIS to hunt with and I don't add acid or stun layers because using those has you make subpar composite...
At least if you focus on base/kinetic/ham and durability you can make armor that will be much lighter and as good or better than composite to hunt....

lol, i should be using the worst resources, and trying to crit fail on experimenting. low resist, high ham ris. Now that is rare!

well 3rd suit is done!!!
w00t!!!
all useing regular segments and 2 kinetic layers, the ham is still lower then most composite while haveing alot better resist.
Every peice was 80% kinetic and 70-74% base the helm was like 213 mind encum, thats far lower then you can get composite purely expermented on encumberance and no resist LOL I love it!!!.

Started the 4th suit tonight too, this guy wants to PVP in it, I did not get any screen shots but I hope he makes a post on it. Useing interwoven segments here was the combo.
3% geno cube
3% janta hide
1 kinetic layer 14% kinetic 3% base
1 stun layer 13% stun 3% base
1 NS layer 10% base
the yavian bone he brought was like 530 oq/ 612 sr
i was out of my rare 900/800 stuff
It came out to 80% kinetic, 13% stun and 74-76% base w00t!!
I now work on this armor with almost no fear of failing, i experment on it like normal, dumping like 7 points into base and let er rip, the 76% legs i got a 7 point amazing on them thats where the 1 more % came from over the rest. the Ham on the helmet was like 205 if i remember right so as you can tell very light weight and uber resist with stun moved into AR!.
I'll post some SS's as soon as he post
, it was late and did not take any lol. that suit so far is missing only the 2 bracers and the gloves.

Nice stuff.
You say that the ham is lower than composite, but isn't the ham on the small pieces much higher than it would be on composite, offsetting the gains you had on the helmet and chest ? ( I saw the picture of the boots and the ham was kinda high).
