Thread: JETPACK

Wow - I removed this thread from my subscriptions after I got my answer as to what I'd need to get. I come onto the loot forums and do a double take when my old post has 39 replies and still is at the top of the page.
Anyways, is there something different or something I am not doing right regarding the blacksun loots? I have been hunting blacksun for almost 3 hours a day for the last few days and all I get is credits. Well actually thats a lie - I got my 4th pair of BH gloves in the last three days. What's up with this? Am I on a really REALLY bad loot streak or am I missing something? Also I've noticed that the mobs of 3 blacksuns (usually a thug, henchman/guard, and assasin) seem to have dissapeared off of Yavin. I'm still going at it, tonight I'm going to make upa new patrol route and see if maybe the Dev's just shuffle it up - but I've killed atleast 50 blacksun in the past couple of days and gotten a mere pair of gloves (well that and 50k cash but I'd rather have my BH helmet :smileysad
Thanks for all the replies-
I hear there's a lot of random luck to it. I actually got my jetpack base the first hour i started hunting, very lucky, and since then in three weeks, have gotten two biceps, a chest, a pants and a bracer, among other jetpack items inside the DWB. Others have hunted hours and hours, looted endlessly and have not gotten a base yet. Many's a day I just get credits or imperial disks loot garbage. Have to stick with it till it pays off.
Same with RE'ing starship parts, I RE'd thousands and thousands of parts and never got enough disks for a full schematic, while others get 3 disks from just 30 items. There should be some 'managed' loot minimums and maximums where odds are enhanced based upon effort and results, but that's an aside.
You may be right on that one, sorry for the misinformation. It has been specifically said by our veterans on our outings that a master DE is required to get in the room (as we've been bugged sometimes and its come up often,) i'm confident of that, but our master DE / group leader is also a master artisan now that you mention it, so I proly drew the wrong conclusion on which prof is actually crafting the jetpack. Good catch.

Do you need a Schematic for the Jet Pack?

No, they are crafted in the DWB by a Master DE, who places the individual parts on the terminal while the party is under attack. If the crafter dies while dropping the parts for construction of the jetpack, the parts poof. So keeping the crafter alive is a good thing. As soon as the crafter drops the first part, the BS and SBD's pop and start moving in on the crafter, the group has to taunt and intercede, never seen one get through the group so far, so long as they know what to expect and are ready.
I have readin other threads that a Master DE is required to get into the room, but you need a Master Artisan to craft the Jetpack. Is that correct?
