What he means is that the Devs went ahead and applied 'combat rebalance' fix to Jedi with the revamp, then decided to work on JTL instead of complete the rebalance.
So look for Jedi to get tougher relative to other PC's during the Combat Rebalance (so I understand it).

It's simply boring. To progress - and not actually regress - I have had to spend the last three months on Endor killing lair after lair after lair of Mereks.I stuck by the visibility rules and only got hit by BHs four times and griefed only once. However, I was just too weak to fight and got killed each time. I sucked it in and reground the 1.2m exp on the old faitherful Mereks. The grind might have gone a little faster, if I'd been able to fight Nightsisters or Krayt to get vetter Crystals and Pearls. However, I was too weak to fight them so I had to buy these components.I had ten harvesters dotted around Lok and used to sell them on my vendor for 2cpu.Then SOE nerfed the vendors for non-artisans so I broke them down into units of 3000 and tried to sell them on the bazaar for 5999k. But they just didn't sell fast enough. Every day I was greeted with 'Auction Unsuccessful' emails. If I sold them for any else, I wouldn't recoup my energy and maintenance expenses. So I had to turn my main into a support character - goodbye, Rifles and Pikes and hello a non-combat Master Doc/Master Dancer. She helped buff the Jedi, good, but needed high quality buff packs to sell buffs for money in the starport, bad.So I opened another account and created a Scout/Fencer/Swords. His job is to hunt for the materials for the doc to turn into buffs to sell so my Jedi can buy the crystals to actually enable me to play the game.... etc. In oher words, I was working all game-day long so I could buy an hours fun with the Jedi, which wasn't actually that fun.Hell, why give Sony $30 a month to replicate my real life in an online game? Finally, the conclusion became inescapable. Where's the fun? Ultimately, this is supposed to be a diverse and interesting game playing experience. However, there is simply not enough variety or content for long-time players. I believe that this is the long-term and fundamental flaw in the game and gives it a finite life. After a while, the game is just plain dull.I believe this is verified by the experience of my guild - SITHS. This was - and maybe still is - an all-Dark Jedi Guild on Bria. Over the last two or weeks, the numbers in this guild - which peaked at 35 , I think - have dropped radically. When I sent members who have left an email asking how they are, I get a reply from someone I don't know, someone who has just bought the character off an auction site. The good players are leaving the game in droves. Now, me too. All my harvesters, houses, crystals and pearls are packed away. My Jedi and Doc will take a snooze and wake up for JTL, my scout/fencer/swords account will be cancelled. No, I will not give you my stuff. Thanks to all my buds, have a good one the rest of you.Message Edited by dridernce on 09-18-2004 12:41 PM
I hate to say this, but there's so much you could (should) have done different... why didn't you just take your Pike/Rifle main and turn him into a crystal looting Janta killer? Even with Pike/Rifle you'd have to trouble killing NS (except for the elder) and you'd easily make 1-2 mil creds a buff session on dant running mokk/janta missions. No need for a second account or to buy your components.
Get into a guild that has a lot of jedi and a support base of priviate structures and dancer/doc buffers. Take your Pike/Rifle and make him some type of Sword/Brawler/TKA xxxx/fencer xxxx/Medic 2040. You'd be able to solo elders with enough practice, and at the very least have no trouble looting crystals from NSs and earning money from killing jantas.
By starting up doc, buffing the public for hours on end, then decided to hunt your own meat, it really seems like you took the LONG way instead of the easy way.

Again, this is very good advice. It's what I should have done but didn't. I could, I suppose, rejig my alts all over again, and join my Jedi to a more diverse guild (though I still feel loyalty to my SITHS) but the point, I maintain, that the actual gameplay ofa Jedi is, to me, now very uniteresting.
That said, I am obviously addicted since I have spent the last hour reading up the EQII section of this site. Sigh, I'm hopeless.

I wouldn't say addiction, no one likes shelving months of work and effort and they shouldn't have to on account of gameplay issues. I'm not even speaking just for jedi, but for every class that has waited to be fixed and addressed and are getting tired of the combat rebalance carrot being dangled.

I'd honestly be suprised if it were more than 7 devs working on this game. If it's 70, 65 of them need to be euthanized.
Just finished the Padawan Trials, and 7/15 quests needed to be restarted because they were buggy.
Ran around after Mellichae for an hour trying to figure out what to do next, becuase THERE'S NO DOCUMENTATION. Started the Padawan Trials (which I think were MUCH more in keeping with a SW theme, and the -kind- of quests they were... that was exactly the kind of thing I want to see more of), finished them and got my robe. Can't wear it until I ditch most of my gear, but I can't ditch my gear because my Padawan fighting skills wouldn't touch a novice brawler.
Had to post to figure out that when (in another set of buffs or three) I finally grind 20k exp without any weapon mods, skills, or any real reason to be using a lightsaber, I'll be able to use the command /findmytrainer to get my first box of skills.
To sum up for the ADHD crowd: The coding is sub-par, the theme's coming along nicely, the documentation is irresponsibly non-existant, and I think they have perhaps 4 guys working on this thing.

Getting novice was awful, tickling quenkers with no specials or saber mods. Citros snow cake worked wonders however, buy it, use it, love it, even after you get novice sabers. Make a berserk macro, loop it for every 10 seconds, then just go next to the lair and let it rip and go watch tv. this method is a bit risky considering visibility is broken. I was killing quenkers faster than this at 2 hand edged 2 LOL. Don't get me wrong, not complaining, I know it's hard since I played jedi before (admittedly an almost master saber one) but sheesh this is ridiculous.
