Blix has cut the number of required organics by 1/2!!! It gives me a lot of reassurance that we know someone is listening. On test center I know we have at least one MAS and hopefully another by tonight (if my index finger doesn't die from excessive clicking) Expect some posts in the next few days about the *actual* process (not rumors) and thoughts.
Again, thanks Blix, I was terrified of the 55k hide needed for a simple run of cores, and the 85k for advanced cores. 42k is still alot for one run, but much better than 85k.

This has always been the dev's MO to get people to like them. Have you ever thought that they made the 85k requirement on purpose? And back it off when people complain and now they are the good guys? You know how hard it is to get 42k of hides for a factory run? I used to collect my own hides when I was an AS, scout, pistoleer. It took me 3 hrs a day for 1 week to get 20k of hides. I know rangers and scout can harvest andI buy but it cost insane amount of credits to buy hides. If they are gonna make this kind of requirement for hides in armor I hope they change the harvest rate of hides too.

I hate to say I thought the same thing, but I did. I actually don't think they do it on purpose, but in reality it sure works out this way. Its hard to totally back off from a direction in which you were going.

With the recent Patches it is a lot easier to get 42k of hide. The other day i got 37k of Endor Herbavoire meat in one buff session, and i didn't even finish the buff session. It's still a lot, but it's not TOO difficult

I'm not thanking him yet, but I'll use a little less hate when I mention him......
it's still too many hides, and I still fail to see why the layer schematics had to be changed. When I see more hides go away (all the hides in cores and segments need to go!!) and some of the new resources replaced with the old ones that have dissapeared off the list, I might mention his name nicely. sometimes.
When I see some changes to experimentation come in, to give us some of the challenge in creating a good armor come back, then I might thank him.
But for now? too little fix, and too much problem still.

Dont forget buffs are going the way of the dodo and it's also going ot be a lot more difficult to kill critters now.

Was that in TC or in Live. Cuz the way i hear it rangers will not be getting armor certs, so no telling how harvesting will go then

Rangers get the cert for battle armor. They do NOT yet have any indication that they will get a health bonus as they level up in scout and ranger.
This is because they aren't a combat profession. They have these noisemaker traps, see? And camoflage. So they can sneak up on a gurreck and toss a noisemaker, thereby scaring it out of its skin, which they then pick up. Simple.
Oops, except throwing the trap makes them enter combat. Hmmm, something doesn't make sense here. Any guesses, people?
Love for the rangers.

You know what, I know you guys are skeptical about his intentions, but I for one am going to give him the benefit of the doubt. There are a few things about the new system that need to be tweaked a bit, and though I was a "End of the World" poster a few days ago, I have decided to be a little more optimistic. The new system definately has its pluses and minuses, but I think that if you start having the attitude of "How can we make the new system rock" rather than "Bring back the old system", we will get a little more cooperation. I may be completely wrong - but its a better idea than continuing to whine about it. Since that will probably not get us the tweaks we actually need to make the new system work and be fun.

This was live. Yes it will be more difficult for rangers to get the hides, but my group didn't defeat anything we couldn't have defeated unbuffed fairly easily, also i didn't even get the "Grouped with master Ranger bonus" because i was the only master Ranger in the group... i only got the grouping bonus, and usually whenever i go hunting hide i go unbuffed unless it's Lokian Leathery or something like that, so i don't think it will be TOO difficult, especially if rangers can get a good group together.
Yeah Ranger not being a combat profession is kinda strange isn't it?
