Make us an un-layerd glove, with every point possible into base in the segment and final... post the result and we can give some advice...

A question for you: what's the base resist on the 79% kinetic item?

only 47% so i know im making something REALLY wrong.

im at work, so i dont have exact #s for you, but im trying to get as much feedback as i can before i get home in 2 hours.

all my resources im using are in the 800-900 range in OC and SR.

When making a Kinetic Layer what #s should i shoot for in the end result? What should i pour my 10 points into??

next:

When making a Kinetic Segment what #s should i shoot for in the end result? What should i pour my 10 points into??

When making a Composite Armor Piece What should i pour my 10 points into??

Obviously im doing something very wrong, guess what i get for trying to do it myself, im guessing im experimenting the wrong things.

I'm a noob too but just had your problem.

I made the kin layers 4/7 or so...pretty much everything into base. the last point or so going into kin. I then poored all my points into the base in the segment and would get 80% kin without experimenting in the special resist part.

That wastes points though turns out. but definitely exp in base first then the kin pretty much automatically gets up there. I think the kin I could probably drop a point or two into the durability to get the ham costs down. Don't know..I'm a NOOB

So when making sub parts put everything i got into the Base Experimentation??

Then if i have anything left over put it???

That will get me 80% kinetic??

I know ive been trying to get the Kinetic # up, not the base # so maybe thats what im doing backwards??

um usually i use 4.6% base 4.something % kinetic on my layers and i get 80 quite easily... just experiment all into base on the final piece and put leftover into durability.... i make 80 kin 78 elect 69 or 70 base....

For kinetic comp, it's best to use 3x 4/4 kinetic layers - meaning: push everything into base and use remaining points in durability. Repeat this for the segment, and again for the final combine.

Although a special point needs to be made about comp exp: on the final combine, you should push base resist (middle row) first and then push one of the others. This will result in high-base items with 80%(usually) in specials, due to the middle-row points actually improving the special resists as well.

And of course, this wouldn't be complete if there weren't exceptions: namely, the use of multiple layer types. In these cases, at least one of the layer types will need to have increased special resists to allow for 80% resists on the final combine. Though the rest of the process remains the same here.

Or should i try to get the segments up higher?? I know i can hit 80 with 39% kinetic segments...

oh i guess i need to know if a research center really makes a difference in getting a higher #

sorry im such a noob.

what a minute here... why are you using 36% kinetic segments? base + layers=final special... assuming you can get a base unlayered comp higher than 50 you should easily be able to make 80% kinetic comp

agreed... if you indeed have all resources in teh 8-900 range... you shuold without a doubt make some pretty decent 80% kinetic armor

use his layers setup if you are doing strictly kinetic... dont waste any points into special resist on the layers... on the segment you may need to put a point or two into special ONLY if your elec doesnt hit 80 on the final combine because of low composite resource stats

Ok i just tried to make this, and i must of screwed up royally.

first i made my layers: 4% base, 4% kinetic

then i made my segments: 21% base, 12% kinetic

but now when i make my final armor, im only getting 69% kinetic

all my resources are good, so what did i do wrong?? Should my segments be higher?? Did i make a major air headed mistake here??

Should i be using advanced or regular composite segments??

Im supposed to experiment the middle row first in everything correct??
