Thread: Self Sufficiency / Advice on Template

My template is Master Armorsmith, Master Smuggler, Pistoleer 0004, Artisan 4300, Brawler 4000, Marksman 0401.
I can craft armor, solo a great deal (feign death is awesome), I have 10 Artisan experimentation points (since I'm human I get +15), but I do have a couple weaknesses...
[1] When the merchant revamp comes, I'll have no vendors
[2] I cannot harvest my own hides
[3] I need a Tailor for Synth, RFP, and Wookie Padding
Hides aren't a big deal. I think it's worth buying them to save on all the time spent gathering them and the skill points I get to save.
The dependancy on a Tailor wasn't a big deal since I was friends with a Tailor, but they're quitting now. Getting schematics shouldn't be too hard though...
The only big loss will be vendors. When that revamp comes, I'll have to sell suits of armor out of a backpack in Coronet or Theed...
I'm going to drop Pistoleer for FS Crafting when that publish hits, and then I guess I may have to drop Master Smuggler (depending on their revamp and the JTL content) if I want to have vendors. Slicing is wonderful though, and I'd have to pay a lot to have it done by a third party...
Back to the question at hand, for 'pure crafter' go Master AS, Master Merch, Master Artisan, Tailor 0303, FS Crafting. You'll only need to buy hides and deeds, and you can cover those costs in a couple suits of armor.
