Thread: HELP!!! on armor colors.

This may sound like a stupid bone headed question but for specific reasons it's important to me.

I wanted to find out if anyone has a screenshot of the color templates with the specific names of each color on it. I know most of you are thinking well duh... look at it lol. Which would be fine if I could tell what colors they were by looking at them lol. I'm 1/2 red/green colorblind, which means I can see color but not always the right ones lol. Anything that has any shading of red or green in it is difficult at best for me to determine the color(ie green and brown simply look like different shades of the same color, so a light brown and a dark green may look like the same exact color to me while looking completely different to others, same thing goes with purple and blue, and several other color combinations). It gets especially difficult when they start going to those damn pastel colors and stuff as well. Is there a current post or would someone be willing to make a post that will give me the colors for the corresponding palletes.

It would probably require someone to simply put a number inside of the color square then to print out a key on the side with the numbers and cooresponding color name next to it.

Thanks for any help that you guys can provide in this seemingly simple issue lol.

Not a bone headed question at all.. I can imagine crafting as a color blind person would be hard.

I've seen several color palettes for various armor types posted in the armorsmith forum (recently i saw padded, but i can't find the link). Here's some palettes for RIS, you can show your customers. Good luck!

Sorry i misread your question.. the palette i linked doesn't give color names, but it is something you can show to your customer and have them give you a letter code.

I'm not sure that the colours on the palette even have specific 'names', as such. If anyone knows different, then please correct me, but I wouldn't even know what to call most of them. Hell, I'm not colourblind and I have a hard time telling which is the true black and which is just a really dark shade of blue or green.

Sorry I can't be more helpful to you

OK, I lied, I can be more helpful

I've put a grid reference around the more detailed colour pallette, and this is the link to the image

Now, what follows is a very clumsy attempt at describing each set of colours. Several of the colour groups are extremely close, at least from the look of this pallette. They may look more distinct when crafted and worn, I honestly don't know. I won't be at all offended if people correct me, be it by chiming in with the correct names of certain colours, or just outright disagreement

Each colour group comes in 8 shades, moving from light to dark. It has been my experience that when worn, armour will appear

darker than the pallette indicates, but since it's only certain colours you have trouble with, and not shades in any case, I probably didn't need to tell you that

1A to 1H - green/grey, maybe slightly brownish-grey?

1I to 2B - Hmm... a slightly blueish grey at the dark end, looks more yellowed than anything at the light end

2C to 2J - a slightly greyish blue

2K to 3D - very similar to 1I to 2B, but slightly closer to pure grey, maybe

3E to 3L - tan (yellowy brown) 3M to 4F - grey to black, with a hint of colour to it, but I'm damned if I know what - best guess: blue

4G to 4N - pure white to pure black

5A to 5H - greeny brown, 'olive' might be the best description

5I to 6B - washed-out green (pastel kinda colour)

6C to 6J - slightly greyer and darker version of 5I to 6B

6K to 7D - pale yellow through to a pastel orange (fairly washed out)

7E to 7L - pastel orange-brown - probably the closest match to 'caucasian' on the pallette

7M to 8F - hard to describe. A slightly decolourised or washed-out purple is the best I can put it, but the darkest version looks really good on comp

8G to 8N - sky-blue

9A to 9H - bright red

9I to 10B - dark blue

10C to 10J - dark red

10K to 11D - mid-green

Hopefully, some other people may be able to better describe some of these colours, but I hope that's a start. If you post which colours are hardest for you to differentiate, then someone can go into more detail on those ones

Edit: Paste from notepad got messed up, it took out all the breaks I wanted, and put in loads I didn't

FYI, I messed about with the image a bit, and obviously saving it as a .gif cuts down on colour density, so use the linked image as a reference only, everything on that pic seems to look a bit lighter than the pallette did in-game.

Couldn't get the formatting right by editing, hopefully the above is less messed up. I hate these forums

Thanks for the helps guys, and yes the above is more what I was looking for. I can find the colors matched to HEX codes but that doesn't help me on the armor pallette because I can't match those colors with the HEX codes. The above is exactly what I needed so I can at least find which areas or lines are more common colors and work with those.

Autoit3, a macro program, has a sub program called autoit spy. It tells you the coords of your pointer, and also the hex color the pointer is on. If you play in windowed mode, autoit spy always stays on top, so you could defenently use it to show you in number form the color of whatever you are trying to craft. I do not remember the location of the program, but hopefully you can find it.

Good luck man.
