Sometimes I say to myself, "What if everyone would just unsubscribe to this game, then how would the devs fix their customer service."

I really dont think the devs have a clue what the customer wants. Ive said this before, and I will say it again. Whatever happened to the saying, "The customers are always right"? Devs, youmake me angry

Because 90% of the time, the customer isn't in games like this.

Customers lie in order to get free stuff. Customers lie in order to make their profession more powerful. Customers cheat in order to win and think they deserve their victory for breaking the system.

Part of the art of developing a game like this is figuring out who is lying for gain, and who is telling the truth, but operating on misinformation or false assumptions.

Well, my wimp of a character, who is working on Piloting and also Shipwright, wants to also be able to manage her Harvesters without

having her head taken by beasts that she 'should' be able to stand up against.

So she goes to the Bazaar to find some armor. No luck. What? Verythin bazaar, at least on my server. So ok, lets do some crafting

and get Novice Armorsmith. How discouraging! To get there, and find that she can't build anything other thana belt.

Gotta have synthetic cloth. Gotta have Reinforced Fiber Panels. Gotta have.... on and on.

So what to do? Can't find any of these things on the Bazaar. Which is just... bazaar. Does she need to start the Tailor tree?

Could anyone give me some simple to understand steps to the best way to get some decent armor so Vickii (my char) is comfortable

in the wilds?

thanks

Did you try the vendor search? I find it hard to believe that you don't have a single smith in the entire galaxy that has vendor searching enabled.

CTRL+V, then look under the Vendors category

If you don't see anything under the Armor category then something is very wrong

Ok thx.

This dawned on me while not playing. I had not checked out player vendors. Without those tho, there would be nothing.

And this makes no sense for a game not to provide the facility for some basic armor in major cities.

It makes perfect sense in a game where the economy is built by the players...

A valid question.

If your character's only elite profession is Shipwright, then there's not much point in even looking for armor because you're not certified to wear any.

You need at least novice in an elite profession that isn't "pure crafting" before you can even put on armor.

You need to find a taylor for the missing components and you will need access to a wearables factory to build the cores. This is part of the devs push to make the proffessions reliant upon each other. Good luck finding crates of anything on bazaar. When I first started AS I searched and search and searched. Since it only takes very basic taylor skill boxes, most AS's have that much taylor to be self reliant. You can also get a schem from a taylor for the cloth, fiber panels and reinforced panels but be sure to give the taylor YOUR resoures so that the schem is made for that specific resource. Good Luck!

Fixed!

But yes, tailors will be able to provide crates of synth cloth, reinforced fiber panels, fiberplast panels and armour padding which are needed for the various types of armour. Drop a note on your trade forum if you cannot find a tailor component vendor.

thanksto those who responded with advice.

well I searched far and wide on Tattoine and found reinforced fiber panels, but no synthetic cloth anywhere.

I'll just move on. And yes it is true my char can't wear armor. I found some Chitin armor, purchased it, and learned

the hard way, which I usually do, that my char can't wear it until reaching an elite combat profession.

I dont agree with a push to make one profession dependent on others. Possibly 25% or so. But 95%? No thanks.

An armorsmith should be able to come out of the gate crafting, only needing assistance from a tailor, for instance,

for a minority of choices.

So I'll move on with shipwright, swordsman, and pilot. And do without the armor for now. Found a great axe along

the way, so killing is easier. Maybe the battle droid wouldn't be a bad idea, but I have a feeling I would be at the

artisan terminal for 12 years to pay for it.

thanks again

Well, In case you are still reading this thread. The tailor components aren't as bad as it seems. At first when I went buy the tailor components on the vendor search, I couldn't find any in the whole galaxy...then I realized my mistake...I was searching singles! They come in factory crates. You probably did the same thing. In the search, go to other, then factory crates, and the to the panels and you will find plenty. If it's too late...good luck with Shipwright!
