Thread: Elemental damage is BROKEN

From the patch 17.0 notes I would've believed that the sabers were merely not updating the elemental damage if you change the crystal in the hilt. I haven't really checked, even though I'm a paddy its of no consequence to me
They said they are fixing how elemental damage resisters in the saber. Before I think if you pulled outa low pearl then added a high end pearl the elemental damage was supposed to go up in line with how damaging pearls were. This doesn't mean they fixed elemental damage actually doing the damage it is supposed to.

What is of note here, is that the multiplier stayed consistent if we use the average damage w/o elemental. The multiplier was +/- 0.001 which is acceptable when allowing for lack of decimals in damage ranges. Since only the weapon changed we can deduce that the multiplier should not have changed as it is based on the defenses of the subject and the levels. None of which changed. If the multiplier were to be the same it would require using the average damage for the rifles to be without elemental damage. This indicates elemental damage is broken and does not add to the damage of caused to the subject.
This is good info... it rang a bell with me since I noticed my Nym's carbine was sucking bad, even tho the numbers suggested it should be great.I ended up test firing the fivecarbines I was carrying,on aCL 80 npc that happened to be nearby.
All the carbine stats are with powerups.

Looking over the numbers, it appearsElemental isn't doing anything in terms of damage to the target. The Nym's carbinewould hit alot harder if its 174 Elemental damage was working... and the Proton would hit hardest out of all of these.
So to summarize what these figures show...
List of things that actual damage is NOTproportional to:
Min damage
Average damage
Average damage + Elemental
List of things that actual damage IS proportional to:
Max damage
Therefore,
List of thingsthat are factored into 'Estimated Base DPS' but which don't actually do anything:
Minimum damage
Elemental
Can we get a response on this issue from a DEV, like what was the working as intended version of these element damage. At this point they seem pointless.
