I attended the Breakfast with the Developers this morning in Indy and my table had a nice conversation with the SWG Producer (Helio?) and when I was talking about our resource concerns he said all items that are critical to our gaming will be respec'ed including resources. He didn't give me any details at all other than that a resource that is longer in-use should be converted to the new resource needed for the item. He said that the resource that it converts to may not be as good as it previously was but it will be usable. Not sure if this is really going into live with the CURB or if he was just trying to put the fires out at the event this morning.
Food for thought.

that doesn't make sense. how can you convert one unspecific resource eg. wooly hide into 3 different specific resources (naboo bristley, dant wooly, lok leathery)? The new requirements aren't one for one from the old requirements, and therefore can't be changed. what if my 123k lok leathery hide that I have stored up is used for something else? this doesn't make sense. I think he was just trying to convince you not to cause him physical bodily harm

Interesting news...thanks. I was wondering if anyone went or not.
You said "putting out the fires"...so the mood/atmosphere of the event was pretty tense?

It *might* work like the resource kits, but at a cost? I dunno...I'll poke around for an answer.

I was specifically talking to him about the change from Segments to Cores when he mentioned this. When we all sat around talking about it we weren't sure how exactly it would work either. We didn't get to ask many follow-ups directly to him so I don't really have a lot of other details that I could add.
I agree though, I'm unsure how it would be implimented, just passing on the word. I spoke specifically about changes in AS to Blixtev and GreenMarine. They weren't direct on conversion or other areas. They are still working on the final product so even if we are negative about the changes, we need to be positive with the delivery of our feedback.

Interesting. I wonder if they are going to change the resources around like they did to SW. But none of the resources we have are invalid. They just aren't that great/complete for AS anymore.

I'd say the most likely reason is that he didn't want to get his ass beat. The devs can be all high and mighty and condescending when they're safe at their computers posting on the forums..... lol, like that happens often. But when there's a real person in front of them, they don't want to take a trip to the ER in Indy.

I'm afraid it will end up like those loot kits but with the option to convert to a named resource instead of generic. If that is the case our converted res will have 200 to all stats (and in practice be useless).

Even if they did implement this, it wouldnt be useful. I mean, we would be making armor worse than what the frogs give. THis is useless to us.
