Thread: Focus Thread: Full suits Vs 2 piece? 1 piece?

I've had conflicting reports that 2 and 1 piece suits may be still working in the CU. Can anyone get me some numbers to confirm/deny this please?

I can say for sure that just a chestplate does not give full protection. I wanted to test the protection on a chestplate I just made but didn't want to wait the time it would take for the rest of the armor to finish. My test opponent had to hit me 6 times (using melee hit) before he hit the chestplate.

Some attacks specify that they hit on a special location, like the rifleman shoots ya in the head. I dueled a rifle guy and i was wearing a full suit of armor Minus a helmet and his headshots hit hard, no armor saves there.

I smacked a guy wearing cybernetic legs with a leg hit, no armor on the legs and i did full damage.

so...the only armor im not sure of is arms, feets and hands.

My question since they finaly said that the boots and hands have no armor values and are just for looks, are they are still in the hit tabels. I know of sure that in Live you can get hit in the hands, and feet that was tested. anyone have any facts or thoughts on this?

I ran a test on partial armor tests by tanking a bunch of attacks from low level mobs and removing one piece of armor at a time (starting from fully armored). I used a trandoshan PC so full armor was everything excluding gloves and boots.

I removed armor in this order: helm, left bracer, right bracer, left bicep, right bicep, chest plate, and leggings.

The ratio of unblocked to blocked hits seemed to increase properly. However, I didn't notice much difference around the time I was removing biceps.

If you would like the log, Caile, PMme anemail address and I'll fire it off.

PS: Forgot to add that all hits were blocked when I was wearing the full suit (no gloves or boots).

I just looked at the log again and it looks like I was blocking about 50% of the hits with just leggings on.

Why do I always listen to the roumors? Armour is working perfectly. Dont believe the hype.

A full hitdoes allway 246 damage. The armor absorbs 105 damage if any armor piece is hit.

I think the data shows thatthose people"giving conflicting reports that 2 and 1 piece suits may be still working in the CU" are just not doing the math right. A sample size of 100 attacks is the minimum before you should get those poor armorsmith freakin.

Next time those people should present their conflicting data in advancebefore sending us into hours of needless testing.

I don't mean to cause anyone more unnecessary testing, but are we sure that its not a specific type (or types) of armour that we are getting these reports for? Be in Battle/Assualt/Recon or Comp/Tantel/Hunting etc etc
