I made some boots 80% to the base (non-special) 80% electricity vulnerable to stun encumberance 29/24/30 unsliced.

I did not use any krayt components.

NS layers and maybe a janta hide. possibly only 1 ns layer around 8% with janta, and the rest elec. layers maxxed for base and low ham. or maybe 2 9% ish layers with 5% elec layer (low ham) and a shard. or just 3 NS layers around 8% and shard. tons of ways you could have done it...

oh, and ris would have been possible as well if you are cert.

80 electric is hard to tell since you can either add electric layers or experiment the segment for electricity after using 9 points in base (I get 16% if I use 3 more points and that makes you reach 80)

Now getting to 80 base without slicing need you to make a 44 base segment. I can make this with layers that add +21. Absence of special protections rules out rancor hides and krayt scales. Lets say you had a set of 9 Nightsister layers with 7% base and that should do the trick BUT that would take your action down to zero in my experience. We see the action is slightly lower so that mean you DID use at least one pair of NS layers at some part. That means you used Jantas hides too. So I'd answer you used a very high NS layer (12-13%) and some jantas at least 4%

OK, that's the incorrect answer and it's from the person who made the armor.

You cannot use shards and Janta Hide in the same build. They take the same slot on the segments. What you meant to say was that you combined Nightsister Layers and Janta Hide. That would be the correct answer.

Many of us have made tens of these types of suits by now.

remember that these are boots though... boots have higher action enc. anyway.. (old armor I made was 41 58 43) so, it's likely that there could be multiple NS layers in there, as he's dropping about 20 action from normal levels. I'd say 3 8%'s or 7%'s and a NS shard.

The point of this thread was to drum up how many ways there are to make basically near perfect armor and as you can tell from the responses there are several. You can ultimately make 80% to all except stun composite that anyone can wear unbuffed.

So can we have an intelligent discussion?

I know alot of you never miss an opportunity to be a jerk. You probably hover around the boards waiting for someone to make what was basically a typo so that you can jump all over them and act high and mighty.

A jerk? No, we know the difference between shards and layers. It's a pretty significant difference. And it cannot be a typo. A typo would be misplacing a letter or two, not an entire word.

Thicken your skin a little and take a joke once in a while. If you can't laugh at your own mistakes then I don't know what to tell you. Peace.
