OK Please correct me if I'm wrong but let me know if this is the ranking of the armour from best to least:

1. Mandalorian

2. RIS

3. Padded Armour

4. Mabari Armorweave

5. Kashyykan Hunting Armor

6. Kashyykan Ceremonial Armour

7. Composite Armour

8. Chitin Armour

9. Bone Armour

Is this correct?

I feel that this is incorrect. All armor is good now. nothing makes 1 armor better from another other than the AS that makes it now. The profession you have tells you what types of armor you can wear... therefor there is no "best" armor anymore. Some are just more desired than the others.

I think Mando and R.I.S. is the 2 best types of armor. the best suit of armor ive ever seen was R.I.S.

Incorrect, they're all the same.

All AssaultArmor isthe same.

All Battle Armor is the same.

All Recon Armor is the same.

The only difference here is which profession your toon is and how good the Armorsmith's resources are.

If I'm only certed to wear only Recon, Mando and RIS would be useless to me.

The only thing that's not good is "Crafted" Bounty Hunter Armor.

Well, in a sense, they could be better than others because of higher condition.

But resists-wise, they're the same.

never made mando, so i dont know. But ris can reach condition over 100k pr piece, faction over 70k and regular armor over 50k, so in that respect ris is superior.

And if you go by sales. Recon armor is the best. Everyone on my server is a pistoleer or rifleman.

You'll find some armour shifts more than others thanks to a preferable look, or condition (Factional and RIS sells well for both respects), but as has been stated many a time, all armours of the same type have the same protections.

I've been moving my customers that want Mabari or Ubeseto Tantel. Mabari's Chest takes the damage in one piece, what tantel takes in 5 with roughly the same condition for the one piece, as each of the 5 for tantel. Same goes with Ubese (but its 3 pieces). Thats the only 'real' difference in any of the various armor types. Recon armor (mainly Mabari) needs its stats adjusted to compensate for being one piece, whereas Tantel is 5. Kind of like how the Wookie armor chest pieces can get up to about 75K or more condition because its a chest/head combo.

Armor is armor, unless it's innate armor like the kind Teras Kasi Artists and Jedi receive in their templates. If you want to get technical, the armor rating of a Master Force Defender is the "best" with 7000 armor rating across the board. When Publish 19 hits, a Master Force Defender who can use Force Armor will be even better, getting upwards of 10,000 armor rating for a perfect 60% resist.

If you don't follow the ways of the Force or the Teras Kasi, though, all armor types are pretty much the same within their own armor category. There is no "best." I hate that question.

Strange list. You forgot Kashyyykian black mountain, marauder, ubese, and faction armor. But as everyone has said no armor is all that different from any other beyond the inherent differences between the three classes. The condition of faction armor is a bit higher, and the condition of RIS is much higher that regular armor. That's about it.

As far as protection, all armors have equal ranking.

As far as condition:

Mando
RIS
Factional
All else

I have collected some really nice Endor hardwood, so Kashyykan Hunting can have almost the same condition as Composite. Tantel might be the one that is at the bottom due to avian bone being .... eh. Might be the numbers that are screwed up on it, too.
