Thread: BH Armour Appearance schematics ...

Would someone be kind enough to clarify something for me please ...
I have been looting quite a few BH armour appearance schematics and want to check exactly what they are for (I assume that theyare used to make BH armour ...but the word "appearance" makes me wonder ...).
Also, is each schematic single-use?
If I want to have a set made, can anyone tell me how you AS tend to see things. On the one hand you have the skills and the resources, but on the other hand the customer provides the schematic ... so is BH armour still expensive to have made ?
Any info and advice much appreciated.
Thank you
The schematics are single use. Quite honestly, if you provide the schematic, they would still cost just as much as a regular armor, and probably a little more, because we have to take the time to hand craft each piece. It makes no difference in our resource requirements to make the BH armor, so we can't make them any cheaper than that. All those do is allow us the option of making the armor, nothing more.
I will give you some of math that I use when making BH armor. Keep in mind I am on Bria.
Prices of schematics if I supply = 400k per piece except left arms and gloves(left arms are easier to find so I charge only 300k each, Gloves are hardest to come by so I must charge 500k each. That is what they cost me.) So full suit of schems is 3.9million
Then comes the cores:
My normal prices on cores range from 30k-100k (for unlayered cores) When making BH armor everyone normally asks for the best I have. The best unlayered I make is right around 6800k,4800e,5800b. So 11 cores in a suit at 100k per core is 1.1 million.
Now is the part that brings me more repeat business than most of my competitors: I do not charge any extra service charges or resource charges for final crafting. Those are covered in the core cost. And I make only 50k per schem (less actually since I collected most of them when they still cost a million each)
So in the end a full BH suit without the schems would cost you around 5 million from me. (BTW, layered suits are significantly greater in cost.) BUt when using this price scale of mine keep this is mind....I am a cheap AS. I work for alot less than many others. 5 million is the bare minimum you should be looking at without schems, up to about 8 milllion.
Another note: I do add a service charge when crafting BH that you provide schems for. This is a simple matter of my discounting services and resources when crafting from my own schems which are so very expensive.

All armor is "appearance" now because it all uses the same cores if it's in the same class. Appearance schematics allow armorsmiths the ability to make the assault armor with that look. There are 10 different schems, standard 9 piece armor + belt. I normally would charge 1mil for assembly (prices vary by server) if the customer had all the schematics. 8 mil if I use my own schems. If you can't locate a belt schematic, talk to a local armorsmith because belts are factory runnable, and they may have some crates of belts, I have about 90 belts left, i just give em out for free.

Really? When did this happen? Or am I just too used to hand crafting to notice this? Thanks
It's the same for faction armour belt schematics.
I used all 10 of my scout trooper belt schematic uses before I realised this.
didn't make the same mistake on the scout trooper belts though ![]()
Why assume it's a bug. The BH belt is complete cr4p. A total waste of a clothing/armor slot. That you can make a factory schem out ofthe belt'sonce-use appearance schematic is the only reason you shouldn't delete at least one of them.

It is a bug that is "working as intended", so it may not be around for long.
Oh and as far as factory running them, I charge for them because I collect them properly. I will not exploit a bug no matter if SOE ignores it or not.
Remember, Honor only counts if you are willing to have it when no one is watching.

I hear you, but I'm saying why assume it's a bug? The belt is cr4p, so maybe being able to factory run belts (one whose only benefit is only cosmetic) is as intended. /shrug

I do not assume to tell you that you are required to be honorable about it... a man forced into honorable notions breeds deceit
I provided the schematics to a local armorsmith on the Chilastra server and got my suit layered (energy). He charged me a total of 1.1 million and threw in a belt.
Either the armorsmith cut me a heck of a deal, the economy on Chilastra is much better than Bria, or maybe a bit of both.
In any case, just ask around your server. You never know what someone is going to charge until you ask.
It's not the only limited use schem that you can make a factory run from.

well it is a bug, otherwise it wouldn't be a limited run schematic...
