Purpose
The originalguidewas designed to provide a guide to armorsmiths and loot hunters, as to what the various components and enhancements in armor do, and what makes them valuable. The question "Are these segments I looted any good" is often asked, and the answer is somewhat subjective. In the guide below I will attempt to give you my opinion on whatcomponents are valuable, and what stats make them worthwhile. Please take these statements as general advice, and not absolute truth.. one person's trash could be another's treasure. This CU version will help us know what has changed and what enhancements are now given
Types of components and enhancements
There are 5 general types of useful looted armor components.
Armor Segments can be used in the place of segments crafted by armorsmiths, when crafting armor. The one handy use they have is they are handy for quickly making display quality armor (such as display padded armor in particular). Unknown if CU segments will have higher condition or stats
Armor Segment Enhancers (now used in segment or core)are used in the crafting of Armor Segments The are now used during the segment or core. They go into the (optional) Armor Segment Enhancer slot on the crafting screen. These can be handy for giving your crafted armor a little boost. Theywere great for starting armorsmiths, who wanted to make some unique pieces, and they served a valuable purpose for established/high end armorsmiths. With the CU ease of using these, the consumate pvper will demand enhanced armor. Supposedly they will be in larger stacks post CU. Same serials are also stacked post CU
Armor Layers are only represented by one type of looted Layer, the Nightsister Armor Layer. These can be used in the optional layer slot when crafting armor. unknown how these converted with no encumberence
Geonosian Cubes are used in crafting interwoven bone armor, and in particular RIS. Weaponsmiths value these as well, but they use different stats on the cubes.
RIS Crafting Components are vital in the crafting of RIS armor. With the exception of the peko peko albatross feather they are all mandatory when making RIS

Usefulness Rating: * * * * * * * * * *
Conclusions
Looted armor components are a vital part of armorsmithing.Post CU, they will come in stacks!!! they can make average armor above average, or can even make armor that eclipses all other armor of it's type (with exceptional components). Any corrections or omissions, please let me know and i will edit and update.

You can add enhancements yo segments, cores and final combine. Probably different loot at different time so some new loot needs to be introduced.
Segments take 1 segment enhancement
Cores take 1 core enhancement
Finaly combine take:
1 biological-mechanical cartridge (unknown what this is, perhaps BE crafted?)
1 feathered appearance enhancement (RIS enhancer, crafted with peko-peko feathers, unknown what effect they have)
1 armor appearance enhancement (probably looted stuff similar to the segment/core enhancers)

dont the peko enhancers also boost health as well?
well, I personally played with some and they didn't have the health bonus listed, however, it could have been when everything was bugged

I logged onto TC4 Bria last night to check all my preCU loots, such as Acklay hide, Janta hide, Kliknik segs, geo cubes, and the rest. Almost all of these had no stats (a random one would show stats every now and again).
In addition, they were not stacking and I couldnt get them to stack by dropping them onto same serial numbers.
What's up with this?
Two things did occur to me which I will test when returning home from boring ole work.
1. The occasional loot item that displayed a stat could be the 'head' loot for the stack - the others stack under it and carry the same stats and serial number.
2. Getting the loot to stack might involve a radial dial command, I didnt think to try that.....
Side note: my marauder armor from the mini themepark on Endor was recon. Has anyone found where we get the schems for recon and assault marauder armor from yet?
