Hi there. I have a couple of questions. First off, I am only a 10 pt. armorsmith, therefore I more or less suck and cant compete with most shops. Anyhow, what I wanted to know is, as a 10 pt. armorsmith, what should be the best kenetic layer I can make? SO far, no matter what, amazing/amazing results I can only get 12% in a layer at best. What should I be able to get at best with 10 pts? Next: After I made those 12% layers and put them into a Ubese segment and made the armor, the "best" I could get was 54% Kenetic/14% bases. Is this about right only being a 10 pt.? Any help with this would be great.
P.S. Now accepting FREE armor experementation tapes....lol Thanks all!

12% sounds about right, i hit 13% with my best resources on my server, one thing you have to realize is that being a 12 pointer isn't going to make your kinetic resist any higher on ubese, with 10 point you can max out any line of experimentation, if you had 2 more points you would have just put them into encumberance to make it just a bit lighter or make the base a little higher. I sold armor as a 10 pointer for a long time, the encumberance just wasn't as low as other shops, but i sold a bit cheaper, got a customer base and i was still able to make 70% base composite as a 10 pointer, so you can be competetive, i'd stick with making 80% kinetic composite armor, base slices sell, and so do encumberance slices.
Now are you making Advanced Ubese Armor Segments, or just Ubese Armor Segments? I am able to hit 77% kinetic with all premium resources, but when i was grinding armorsmith i recall making some non-advanced ubese and with 8 points i got it to 44% kinetic, so i'm thinking you're perhaps lacking nuetronium steel and axidite iron to make advanced? Also the OQ + SR of your materials would help get to the root of how you are coming up with these numbers.

I am a 10 point Smith and I can hit 72 Kin 20 Base Ubese with good resources. Keep trying and you can get it.

It sounds to me like resources are holding you back some.
For Ubese:
I can hit 76% Kin, 21% base ubese armor as a 10 pointer. Take the kinetic segment to 14, then experiment base (WARNING: This WILL have high HAM)
Don't knock 10 point AS. You can still make some incredibly creative and good selling armor as one.
Example: my first 90% piece? Made as a 10 point. The trick with being a 10 pointer is to understand how layers and segments work. You can make a composite suit, without enhancers, with 80% elec/kin 4% stun, and have a base in the 60's still, as well as have a decent (no more than 600ish),if you do it like this:
Kinetic Layer:
Put 2 or 3 points (depending on resources) into special resists (3rd line) so it hits about 8% i think
Bring up your base to 2% (if it isn't already, 2nd line)
put the rest into encumberance (1st line)
You should end up with close tobetween a 5/5/5and 3/3/3 enc, 2% base and 8% kinetic (someone might want to check my math as I'm giving rough estimates)
Stun layer:
Special to 4% (should already be there, and 4% is all you need to close the stun vuln)
Split up base and enc
I forget what my stun layers come out to offhand, as I just started tinkering
Electric Layer:
If you want lower enc, bring the base to 2%, everything else in encumberance.
If you want higher base, 4% base, everything else into enc.
Stick these 3 Layers into a seg, experiment the base all the way as high as it goes, then drop therest into enc. Then on final assembly, do the same. You SHOULD come out to 80 elec/kin, 4% stun, and 60's base.
Also, if you post the stats on the resources you're using, plus an unlayered Adv Ubesesegment's stats (and stats on layer), we might be able to help more.
Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the recipes... i have just started armorsmith and was looking for a good way to get nice armor resist and base.... But my bigest problem right now is the lack of good resources... and the only thing i have to do now is wait for the resources to role over in my favor and just strip mine as much as i can tell i have a good amount of capital so that i can out source all my mining...

Best Ive hit is 14% kinetic layers. Being a 10 pointer you can theoreticly be able to his this with nice resources and 'amazing' successes.
Also, you say you only got 54% kinetic? Was this an Advanced ubese segment or a regular segment?

OMFG! I am so sorry. Indeed I accidently made regular Ubese segments. It has been awhile since Ive made armor, but I had no idea that its been so long that I forgot to use Advanced segments. So, I guess mystery solved. I want to thank all of you very much for all the feedback and help. Also, thanks for the layout of different armors. I had yet to date to be able to get really good comp. Again, thank you and Im sorry for the big usless mess Ive made here

Caile, I was just wondering, what server do you play on? If on Bloodfin, I would like to get together and maybe you caould show me a thing or two about crafting armor

Well, if you ever feel up to it while on Bloodfin, my toons name is Xackkis on that server. It would be great to get some "in game" help. Thanks

Will do. I plan on grinding some rifleman later, so will hit you up in game.
