It's been uh...2 hours since you posted. Most of us work/have class. I don't have the new guide written but will defer to the community while I go do work again.

Hehe. I ran through the guide. It is out dated. The guide is pre-cu. I have been waiting for one to pop up too. Just not posted asking for one cuz I know one is not up yet. Don't give the guy a hard time. I'm sure it gets frustrating answering to the noobs about the stickies but he is asking with good reason.

I have read thru that thread. I guess I missed it, I am trying to find what to "grind" out novice to master. That way I can get what resources I need.

Is there a guide to grinding?

Step 1-Start off by getting Synthetic Cloth, Fiberpanel, Reinforced FiberP, and Armor Padding either working in factories or stowed away from purchases. Getting Segments and cores working in a factory for Step 3 is probably also advisable at this point. Also, know what resources you will need at Master now and start the long slow process of Harvesting or Buying them while you work your grind.

Step 2 -Grind Recon Segments until your inventory is full of them, then switch to practice mode and grind Recon Cores until all your segments are gone. Do this until you reach 3-0-0-0. During the last Double xp periodI think I did 6 or 7 cycles of this to reach 3-0-0-0, plan on 10-14 with double xp turned off.

Step 3 - Using your Cores from the factories in Step 1, change your grind to one of the various Chestpiece/Jackets that you now know how to make. Most armorsmiths feel Ubese jackets are the way to go, I feel Kash Ceremonial is a little easier (if you have/can get the armor padding). Continue this at a snails pace until you reach Master.

At 4-1-0-4 you should be able to make giveaway armor for noobs in novice Elites. Make some and give it away (or sell VERY cheap) in places like Eisley, Bestine, Espa, Theed, and Coronet. Make some friends and gain some future Hide hunters and people that know you and your armor through your goodwill. Then go back to your regularly scheduled practice grind of Chestpieces to Mastery!

My advice for grinding is the following:

This uses a minimum of resources, is fairly straightforward but takes a bit longer.

(I wouldn't bother trying to make and sell anything until master, but maybe thats just me, most servers are nearly 2 years old, plenty of established smiths around, so you will literally have to give stuff away to get rid of it since quality is all resource dependent now)

Your first goal is to get to personal armor 3 so that you can grind ubese shirts. Then grind ubese shirts for the restof the of the trees. Ubese shirts are still best bang for the buck so to speak and use simple resources, iron, steel, fiberplast, they give 126xp each.

To get to personal armor 3 I would suggest one of the following 2 routes depending on your finances and the prices of junk resources and especially hide on your server. I have seen 100k of junk hide on the bazaar on Farstar for less than 20k. Get a pile of cheap hide, either scaley, wooly or leathery. Then do either of the following:

1. grind segments (wooly=battle seg, leathery=recon seg, scaly=asst seg) until you hit per armor 3. This is quite slow. Segments use 35 resources each, 5 units of hide each. Not sure of xp but its around 70 I think.
2. make a schematic for the segments of your choice and run of a factory run. Then make basic cores. Cores use 150 resources each. Xp around 300 I think.

Ubese shirts are only 94 xp following the cu...but are still the best option.

Craft about 6 thousand ubese shirts and you will one day get to be a master armorsmith. Or you can wait for the next double experience week and do it then

Ok, I got a great tip for you. Respec to a combat class, you will have more fun. Unless you have millions of the best resources on your server to keep up with the established armorsmiths, your going to have it real rough. Even with a ton of good resources, it is still the most boring profession hands down.

The only reason ive not respected out of armorsmith, is that ive been an established smith since 10/03 and cant bring myself to do so just yet. But, if soe doesnt start fixing us soon, I will most likely follow the path of the other main smiths on chilly server and become a warrior class.
