It like being a Neurosurgeon and explainging how to operate on a 80 year old to a 2 year old, i mean they DONT get it. AND I LOVE IT! i mean whats better then being a AS with 1-0-0-0 and making 10% base Chitin, failing it down to 7% and seelingit for 1500 creds BEACUSE IT LOOKS KOOL. i mean you could probanbly make more money selling crap then you do selling Comp. But, once again i sigh whenever someone says Whats the percent on that armor youre offering... And if Freeze.

Huh? 1500 credits is nothing, I would pay 1500 credits per piece for a display!

First the Nazis came for the Communists, I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. After that they came for the Trade Unionists, I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. And then they came for me, but there was no one left to speak.

here's a thought: don't sell chitin and make money with a combat profession till you can make usefull armor...

Just because it's not "sellable" as you put it doesn't mean you shouldn't try to... *gasp*... learn your craft while working your way towards master.

I sell low encumberance padded because it looks "cool" and has the most diverse color pallette. I've made other armors simply because someone wants a certain look.

I didn't grind AS. I actually sold chitin on the Bazaar to help finance my rise to Master AS and people bought it! Because even back then I tried to sell the best armor I could. I used all that "rookie time" learning everything I could about my craft.

So what that my chitin only had 16% resists. People nowadays are fighting Rancors single-handedly, but back in "the day" a Nabooian Fambaa was a worth opponent and 16% kinetic would help a lowly Master Marksman to take one out. In todays world of elite masters, 16% kinetic is fit only to decorate a vendor with.

I don't care that people are more than willing to buy a suit of triple-layered composite with 700+ HAM encumberances because the wearer will be buffed by a doc before the wearing. But for crying out loud, there is no need to get some sort of superiority complex just because you can't imagine 1500 credits being paid for a piece of chitin. After all, real components went into the making, and if Dantooine bone was used for the Adv segment then they went the extra step to make the chitin the best it could be.

If you are a 1-0-0-0 AS selling Chitin, good for you. You will learn more about this profession than the L337Dood that grinds to Master then comes in asking how we manage to get 70% resists or asking what planet Crism ore comes from...

I also don't understand whats wrong with someone asking "what the percent on that armor is?". After all, that is what we shoot for in the crafting of armor, high percentages. Just because the syntax may be off and English teachers cringe in the reading of the question is no reason to be snooty.

Am I reading too much into this post?

Whats crism ore anyway? I did grind armor smith. I dont sell or make armor for anyone. Just something I like to play with for myself. All I have ever made (since the grind was over) is padded armor. Now that I have almost figured that out I may start to make other armors.

As far as making armor along the way to sell, well i didnt want anything out there that wasnt top quality. I didnt want to have my name associated with low quality armor.

You should put a stun layer or 2 in the padded. Really helps.

The low end armour is a great way to finance your grinding. I steadly made my way up the Chiten path getting AS 1000 first before heading to AS-1004. but the fact remians you can sell AS1000 chiten on the bazaar at 2500/4000/6000 a piece that is the low end stuff you can make initially. When I got over 20% kin, 8% base I was selling full suits for 25k a snap. (cut down price for full suits).

And the thing is... "n00bs" can afford to pay prices like that... they have been a couple of hunts and everyone kept telling them to get soime armour to protect themselves better. 9/10 we see them wandering aronud in bone armour whihc actually makes them WORSE in combat. Place yourself right and you can finance your way up the AS tree.

And best of all.... they will use that armour to death gaining you more experiance.
