Thread: To make armor or not to make armor (pre Combat Upgrade)...

That is my question! Are you all still keeping fullinventories of armor(composite in particular)or waiting it out to see what happens? I've been wantingto make some 80kinetic/80electricity/80energy/80blast/70base (just got the materials to do so!) but really don't want it sitting around gathering dust because someone can only use a special move every 5 minutes because its so heavy post upgrade.

Advice and speculation is appreciated

use that now, it will sell good, won't gather much dust. as for concern about the CU, adapt. I'm all ready making armor with variousdegrees of stats ( even when my crew says don't worry about HAM).

never figured why anyone would make armor with multiple Special layers... If you can hit 70 base all you need is a 15% eff slice to get 80% base and a 29% slice to get 90%. whice sells for an absurd ammount...

I used to think the same thing. Then someone pointed out it's for people to lazy to slice or just can't find a smuggler. Sells pretty well actually.

I sell only pre- sliced armor ATM, expencive 90% slice makes good profit, and very cheap enc. slice makes good friends

One thing to consider for grind/hunt armor is the fact that sliced armor are more likely to fail a repair. I have more or less stopped getting my 80%kin armor that I use for krayt hunting etc sliced. That means I will get a lot longer lifetime from it.

Of cource if I could get all of it to 90% it would basicly double it's life time but from an economic standpoint it's still cheeper to stick with 80% and not slice.

Composite is still selling very well, and well every set of composite is extremely heavy. So you pretty much always need to use buffs with every set. So your prolly best off to go for it.

In the CU what does it change for armor wise? last i heard it was mainly rebels only used rebel armor and imps had stormie suits but wouldn't that pretty much cancel out AS if that was true so i'd like to get a real idea for whats going on and im only 2-0-0-0 Armorsmith i barley just got it and im still wondering if its really going to effect armor all that much to where its useless to have.

all help is appreciated thanks

Aye AS will make those and get schems for them from the factions recruiter, but as far as i remember faction players can wear what they want they will not have to just wear there faction's armor.

Multiple layered armor is great for people grinding. They don't need 90% and can't afford it, and dont' feel like finding a slicer (and risking enc slice etc)
