Though this is an insignificant example, it does make one upset. Let me begin by telling you where I am coming from.
I've been grinding Armorsmith - for the most part - the hard way. Rarely am I grinding AUK's and Mabari Chest Plates; I'm going for all sales. I enjoy the challenge of joining a mature market; especially on the most populated server, Bria. After being in the market for awhile, I realize that the bazaar is your friend, especially in the newbie towns (Mos Eisly is the biggest). So, I've been really bringing in the money off of new players.
I was realizing crafting Tantel armor yesterday that they're the only armor [that i've seen] that has resists to lightsabers. So, thinking - hey, this could go over well, I go ahead and craft a bunch of pieces of armor to sell on the bazaar in Coronet, Corellia. In the title, I mention the crafter's name [me] and the fact that it has lightsaber resists. That should sell it right there. Lightsaber resists. Even though I'm using Tantel segments with low experimetation pts on em (made em a long time ago when I didn't have the experimentation line), the fact it has lightsaber resists should make it big, right? I was right - I was selling these pieces *big time*. Anyways, when checking what other competition I had on the bazaar, I noticed something different. The same armor I was selling was being re-sold by one of my customers for the max price of 6000 credits. Ugh, frustrates me. He buys my product, resells it so he can make profit off of my item. I personally don't wanna sell my armor at 6000 credits, b/c its just asking too much. Most likely though, it'll get bought up. My hard work and effort = his profit.

Gosh, I can't stand it. He only will make 400 credits profit - big deal. But the fact is, he is taking my armor and re-selling it for profit. This should not be allowed. So just after this happened, I have an idea for the developers. Why don't we have an option that prevents an item from being re-sold? Possibly not permenantly, but maybe 2-4 weeks. Then we don't have as much as this "buying then reselling for profit" deal on our hands. I'm sure this happens all the time with other crafting professions; this needs to stop.
Is this person wrong for doing what he's doing? No. Why? He's allowed. Regardless, we should have an ability as the crafter to stop buyers like these.
Any comments?

I don't have a problem with people reselling anything they buy from me. i set a price that i want, it sells i make money. they are doing the same thing. maybe you should price your armor at 6k

its called capitalism. you make money off the pieces, and he makes money off the pieces. why does it bother you so much?
I make a ton of my money off buying and selling things like armor and weapons. and to be truthful, it is a lot of work to make a lot of money that way. I used to buy 80% kinetic suits for 350 and sell them for 450. Or old school scatters for 100k and sell them for 200k. in a day I could maybe make 500-600k. now, that is starting with a big bankroll, and the time to do it. this guy is making maybe 3k off each piece. so maybe he makes 30k the entire day. big deal.
I think thats a great way for a newbie to pad their bank early in their life. little work, and everyone makes money. its a good system.

Too add to the above sentiments I do believe that's what teh Merchant profession was orginally set up to be, resellers.
I personally don't see how you can get angry when everybody wins in this situation. You get the credits and the sale you wanted, the "middleman" gets their cut, and the end user get's their armor. If you have a problem with "the middleman" making more than you, there is always teh option of raising your prices.

Just to point out - Tantel doesn't have lightsabre resists, it's a display bug.
If you continue to sell it as if it does you run the risk of getting the reputation as a scammer. Unintentionally I know, but it is a tough market.

I agree with everyone else that posted about this. Who cares if someone buys ur armor and then resells it. U got ur money and thats all that matters. The person that bought it now runs the risk that they might not sell it for the price they want and if they don't and have to resell it for less or can't sell it at all, they actually lose money. Example, say they can't sell if for 6000 and have to repost it on the bazaar for 5000 to get rid of it. Tthey just lost 600 credits, plus 40 credits in posting fees on an item they paid 5600 credits for. I personally have no problem with other ppl buying my armor and reselling it for more, but if it bothers u that much then just raise ur prices.

There's no reason re-selling like this should be banned.
On the other hand, if it was bought specificaly to resell, then it is quite rude. I might offer a guess that it is a case of someone buying it, finding they can't wear it (not everyone can wear a Tantel helm) and reselling it to recoup costs,
If a merchant wants to resell my merchandice, I expect them to approach me, and make a business deal. They'll probably get a better price, and I'm happy about it.
If a merchant were to come in, clean out my vendors and re-sell everything at a higher price on his/her own vendor, I'd be out for blood. I may have my money, but I now have empty vendors to restock with no warning, customers who come expecting items, and find empty vendors instead. Alot of damage can be done this way. But this is also a pretty extreme example.

I really don't care if people resell. I make plenty of money as it as & the price I sell at is satisfactory to me.

If he buys a product from me and resells it, I get the money I asked for and that's it. It's the customer's choice of what he wants to do with the product he now owns, it is no longer up to us what he does with it. I rather like it that way. The act of buying and reselling is a whole profession in itself, just like being a group leader; except what skills you have are entirely based on yourself.

I have to agree with everyone else, if you sell an item, and someone else buys it, it is now there item to do with as they please.

I can see some of the frustration that the original poster feels. Yes, he has put a product out on the market at a price he thinks is reasonable, and someone else has seen a chance to mark it up to true "market value" and make some quick cash. I'm not denying that's not a legitimate practice. The rub is that the armor still has his name on it, and still reflects back on him long after it's left his possesion. If the new owner / reseller is gouging people on price, the buyers may very well not realize that he, the crafter, has nothing to do with it.
I'm probably one of the lower priced armorsmiths on Shadowfire for what I sell. There's a chance that someone could hit up my vendor on restock day, cherry pick the best stuff, open up shop somewhere else with my name on the sign and vendor, and then proceed to ramp up the prices much further than I myself ever would. The only place his name would be during any transaction at this other shop would be in the item owner section on the vendor screen, while my name would be all over everything. Who is the buyer going to think is asking some outrageous price?
Just playing Devil's advocate on this one.

I cant see where the original poster is coming from - you got the money you asked for, so whats the big deal?
As an almost 100% pure merchant my entire business runs off the back of people who (IMO) sell too cheaply elsewhere (i.e. the bazaar).
If you dont like it the fact that I am making money off your product (not yours specifically) then put your prices up! I'll soon stop buying yours if I cant sell it at a worthy markup

I have no problem with resellers. It means you are pricing to low. You still made your money off the sale.
