What happens to the sets of 10gdk scales and such already looted? Is there any way to condense this into 1 item? or will those who loot before the hotfix be at a major advantage? (a set of 10 gdk scales would net about 80-100million on eclipse if sold pre-patch prices... all for the work of 1...)

no leaving it, just fix the already dropped stuff if possible. because for sure somone is going to be hoarding serialed gdk scales for sale later at normal prices

Dang it! Well good thing for those 20 people here that wanted RIS to be exclusive to them.
RIS is not exclusive to anyone. You are all capable of looting / buying the components. They didn't magically appear in my inventory one day.
Thanks Jaato!

This stinks. Worst news I've heard since I have read these boards. I was actually excited that the opportunity might avail itself to eventually complete ONE suit of this without spending6-8 weeks killing 550 GDK's in order to loot a 8-9 scales.
Congrats on all the crying. I'd suggest a better poll of AS's to ascertain if the few that have spoken represent the many. Jaato you represent all of us correct? I'd like more involvement in Dev feedback before corrections are made. Maybe the rest of us don't have spend "the millions" that others complain is the reason they oppose it.

I looted 5 woolamander bone fragments last night (all same serials) and 7 identicals today. Seems kinda silly to think I looted more than enough in 24 hrs to make a full suit (with other loot of course).
This is gonna make my services unnecessary now. I usually get a request for a few fragments and always sell them for less than market value. I enjoy havinga knack for getting these as I have spawn rates and best times to loot down pat. So its not just armorsmiths who are bummed over this.
ps. Hello to Kiradon, i used to hunt resources and wooly for ya
Didnt know you still played.

I believe I figured out why the GDK's normally have such a bad drop rate (even compared to other things with a bad spawn rate). The loot calculator normally determines first what will drop, then if it's exceptional, then if it's a component item how many of it (from 1 to 11) assigning it a serial at that point. In their attempts to limit the drops they set it so that the quantity will only be 1 they did it differently on the GDK. On the others (Woolymander, Gurk King, Peko Peko) it just drops the 1 no matter what the quantity comes up (i.e. calculator says 8 then it ignores that and makes the quantity 1), but with the GDK it was only dropping the Scale if the quantity calculator came up with a '1' for quantity.

Awww, that sucks
guess RIS goes back to being armor only 1 or 2 people per server can enjoy.
A whole suit of armor that only 1 or 2 armorsmiths get to make.
A large portion of viable armorsmith content that only 1 or 2 armorsmiths get to take part in.
The devs went to all the trouble of creating a new set of armor, all that art programming time for armorsmith, and so very few people get to enjoy it that it might as well not be there.

So tell me, what were you enjoying while I was out killing enough GDK's to loot eight scales over the course of three months? What was stopping you from from killing GDK's or putting out bounties for them attractive enough to lure the loot hunters away from the krayts?
I love this whining, it's like Lok doesn't exist on some of your clients or you're somehow barred from mastering a combat profession. There's absolutely nothing stopping you from crafting RIS, you just choose to do something else with your time.

Yes, basically. Ignore DirthNader's one star brigade, he's very protective of his RIS turf.

Eh? I turned off star ratings a while ago. Makes the forums much less trollish. Nice try though.
