First off - I'm sure this info exists elsewhere, but the search function hasn't worked all day for me - so my apologies if this post is redundant.

I know this will vary per server (I'm on eclipse), but I'm looking for a rough estimate of what to charge for armor sets and pieces. Assume that the armor is being crafted to a high level of quality (i.e. full AS template w/quality materials)

Right now I know that RIS is going for 8mil (give or take a few mil) and faction sets for for around 2.5 mil, but I'm pretty clueless what to charge for your other armor types. Any help?

base it on resources - then add what the market is willing to pay ontop of it + the time you spent

easy as that

People sell cheap all over but I find I cannot keep my vendor loaded at 750k per suit no boots or gloves Recon = 6700energy, Battle 5500, Assault 6500-7200Kinetic depending. I get mauled for special orders if I am in the shop too long as well. With 8 factories going it's still a problem keeping up too. Good luck to ya, and yes there have been stints for like 4 days without a single sale and then there is this morning and last night with them selling faster then I can restock.

================================
Please email me (PM) if I win any auction and I will make sure to send vendor location for a drop off or set up a time to meet you if that is desired. Thanks.

yeah..me too..what i did is start with a price that seemed fair...if it sould to fast..the price went up...i am currently in that 600k to 800k for non faction armor. i like to sell a few suits a day cause i don't want to spend all my time hand crafting armor. hope that helps

wow..you must get some cheap resource prices over there or you are giving that away. sit down and figure it out once. factory time, power to run the factory, all the resources for the layers, segs, cores, then the final product. not to mention the time to hand make all the armor. i am kinda curious then if you raise your prices or not

I harvest all my own resources, including power, with rare exceptions. I'm sure if that weren't the case, I would be losing money... but as it is, any armor I sell is close to pure profit. I have a tiny little 5 man guild, made up entirely of family members and close real life friends. Of the five, i am the only one with any artisan skills. So all of their lots are dedicated to harvesting my resources... If we decide to hunt, we hunt where i can use the hide. Last week it was Naboo, this week it's Dant. My far away fiberplast harvesters on Talus, Corellia and Dant are all self powered, and I have a decent sized harvester farm out behind my guild hall. When those harvs aren't pulling resources I can use, they are pulling resources i can sell. I don't get rich off of those either though. Since i have no merchant skills, i sell all the resources that are no good for armor use at 1cpu to my neighbor.

I carry around all the resources i need to make battle armor and I usually make it on the spot for someone who has replied to my trade forum thread. I'll usually sell2 or3 suits a day while I'm just going about my regular business.

I personally don't understand how other people get away with charging as much as they do. Do any armorsmiths really buy all their resources? I know some of you guys don't have the combat level you'd need to gather your own hides.... but don't you have guildmates who will do it for you?

Whoa, whoa, whoa ... soyou have a five-man crew that basically helps you out for free whenever you need to gather resources, hunt for hides, etc, and then you have the gall to say that you don't understand how other people "get away" with charging as much as they do?

Earth to Salvatoris -- you have next to no overhead expenses! Of course your prices are going to be close to pure profit under those circumstances if most of your sales are a few hand-crafted suits each day. Most of us have to purchase millions of resources, tend to a large number of factories, deal with hunters, keep up with demand, interact with gobs of customers, etc.

i am forced to buy most of my resources now...i have been using double the resource because i quad layer everything. and when you sell 10-15 suits a day or every 2 days. that is a ton of layers. i also price my armor a bit higher due to the fact that i don't want to spend all afternoon and night hand making all my armor =(

hmm.. i didn't mean "get away with" the way you took it. What I mean is, even at 250k for a full suit of max stat armor with perfect resources in the appearance, I still get people trying to talk me down on the price. I guess it could be better put... I don't understand where you find customers willing to pay upwards of 500k for a suit of armor.

As far as having a 5 man crew dedicated to gathering my resources.. that isn't entirely accurate. I use their lots for harvesters and factories, but i do 100% of the management on them. I generally have to travel to Dathomir by myself to pick up the fiber there. I am a master pikeman, but i still get slain a bit on dath. I still have factories running all the time, they just run segments and cores. I would think that if you are selling armor run in factories, you could have less of a profit margin, and make your money through volume of sales.

There are always people trying to grind combat. Tusk cat missions on naboo or hurton missions on dant give the same XP as anything else.. So when we are power leveling - we can easily gather 100k hide in a few evenings. Most of us don't get XP any more, but the main goal is always helping a lower level member grind combat or scout xp... the hide is nice side effect.

You also have to bear in mind the fact that my armorsmith income basically supports all 5 of us financially. So it isn't like i am getting off free. After we split up the profits i can usually give them about a million credits every couple of weeks. None of us are trying to get rich.

Iunderstand that I have very little overhead, that was the point of my post. Trying to show how i achieve that. I don't do it without any cost. I just keep that cost close to home. So your brothers done play the game with you... You have to have some guildmates or buddies who need an income or free armor... why aren't they helping you?

i do like how hide works now. so much better and it drove prices from 100cpu down to 20cpu. a few weeks ago, a really good dant wooley spawned for us. me and my guild (about 9 or so really hammered this) we got around 1 mill units. so that is really nice!

Our last spawn of Naboo bristly had a 918 average. I got a few hundred k while we were helping our newest member grind rifleman. It's great to just be able to pull a mission and get hide dropping at 400 a kill x 5 people.

After the CU took a long break from making any armor, while i ground through pikeman and slowly gathered the new resources. It was just last week that i finally had enough of the really good stuff to get my battle armor to the cap. I didn't have much trouble at all getting around 5750, andi am still selling those cores at 200k per suit.
