I have 2 questions that I would be extremely grateful if u could answer:

1.) What resource do u guys use most when creating composite armour?

2.) What resource did u use most if u were trying to grind through this prof??

Thank you for your time...

One more question

3.) What is the resource you spent the most money on?

Again thank you for your time.

1) I find I go through a lot of Colat Iron... (Or maybe it just seems like that because I am using out of shift stuff and it is dwindling faster than my resources that I through a bunch of harvesters at )

2) I'll say Hide... Mabari Chest Plates were the route to go... and even though quantity wise I may have used more aluminum or some kind of metal, It is A LOT easier to get a random grind quality metal than it is to get some large quantities of Hide...

3) Most Expensive resource? ... Hrmmm ... Probably the 1000 OQ Kiirium steel that is out of shift... can't remember what I paid for it, but regardless it's worth it's weight in gold...

I go through wooly hide like there is no tomorrow. But then again, I am picky about quality so I don't just take -any- wooly that shows up. I also make armor other than just composite and each and every armor type (well, nearly) requires some amount of wooly.

Just high quality resources in general I go through fast, because I don't want to low quality stuff I can get in bigger bulk.

I think the layers use the most resources, since for every kinetic chest piece that uses say 100 Known Solid Petro you need 12 layers each using 20 Metal for a total of 240 Metal for that single piece just from the layers. Then you have to factor in themetal for the segments.Getting good layer material is essential, and you need a LOT of it.

2.) What resource did u use most if u were trying to grind through this prof??

Metal.

3.) What is the resource you spent the most money on?

Per unit, definitely Wooly Hide. Total? Hard to say.

As you may have guessed I am looking for some good minerals to harvest. However, i just figured out that i need high level surveying to find the good minerals...or at least i think. Is this true? What about mineral survey droids? Do those rely on skill? If not, maybe i can hire one of you guys on eclipse

I still have the novice level survey skills. It just makes it take longer to find good concentrations and sampling a little more difficult.

I'd check out www.swgcraft.com for a listing of materials needed in armor. Concentrate on the resources used for adv. composite and adv ubese segments, stun layers, and kinetic layers.

A little help

I see you only have 41 posts and you sound very new to the AS profession.

Let me help a little?

I promise 100% of the master armorsmiths don't buy any resources off the bazaar, and 75% of them never harvest a wooly hide.

there are probably 20 different resources that you go through a lot, and 20 that you need to make the armor in the first place. If you havent started getting the stuff for master you better start

Instead of having survey 4 or a interplanetary droid go to swgcraft.com and look at the resources on every planet. Saves you a ton of time. Watch that site till some good wooly pops up and send out the masses to harvest it or go yourself.

don't plan on making much money till you are master.

Make that 99.9%. I regularly buy resources off the bazaar and that can include wooly hide. Very cheap. I make a habit of not paying more than 20 cpu for anything so I can keep my armor prices low. My last lucky acquisition was a set of about 300 wooly hides (OQ 917, SR 967) for about 300 cr !!! Most resources I harvest myself however.

I get a lot of stuff from the bazaar but harvest more myself and/or with the help of friends and now guildmates. Make friends with hunter types. Cozy up to newbies who need money but can wield a weapon. Give them some Voritor Bone, Mabari, or Chitin (in good quality, of course) and offer to pay and/or give them discounts on future armor purchases if they bring you the hides you want or other resources. You not only get your resources, you can get a future customer as well (which can end up being several more customers as he tells friends he makes about you). Networking... it's the way things work in the real world as well as SWG.

1) Wooly Hide, As I am also on eclipse I have been lucky to pick up some stacks of Atef Wooly Hide that you can still get in the trade fourms... But expect to pay round 100 to 150 credits a unit for the stuff... But wooly hides are used in all the armors... for example Chitin, Ubese, Padded, Kashyyykian Ceremonial, Composite and I dont remember but I suspect Tantel uses it also (Dont really know, I dont make the stuff offten)\

Inorganic Resouces are easy to get ahold of... Your in a PA depending on how may lots you have, Just go looking for Resouces... and slap some harvesters down... If you would like to have a bit of a Heads up go to www.swgcraft.com for galaxy wide resouces...

Other Inorganics I would start to focus on
- Kriniium Steel
- Polysteel Copper
- Aluminium
- Colat Iron
- Fiberplast (Naboo and Random High Quality)
- Polymers (need in a lot of layers)
- Solid Petrochemical Fuel (OQ only matters on that one)
- Intrusive Ores
- Silicate and Carbinite ores
- Beryllius Copper
- General Use copper (layers and Wookiee armor, if you want to mess with it)
- Steels with High Numbers in OQ,SR,UT and mid range in MA
- Amorphus Gemstone and Crystaline Gemstone
- Neutronium Steel

As you are on eclipse also I can Let you know on Rori, and Lok there is some nice Intrusive Ore used in composite armor avalable right now, Good Neutroium steel on Lok.

Hides are going to be the Bane of your AS carrer... Unless you have several guild members who are either Master Scouts/Rangers or BH or a few Commando/Ranger... Try to get Novice scout and when you and your guild go out hunting, just ask them nicely if they would all pull hides for you...

Two hours or so of hunting things on Say Endor for wooly hides can net you a good amount of them in the end... For me the last Time Endorian Wooly was good Myself (novice Scout) Master Ranger, and BH ended up pulling 30k of Endorian Wooly in 2 hours

2) its been said grind on Mabari Armor Chest plates, Just use grinding quality materals (hides, Chems, Metals) and go to town each one is 394xp on Practice...

3) From the Bazaar I tend not to buy a lot any more... the Bazaars are full of people trying to sell small stacks of 100 for 6000 or 300 for 6000, witch is just a pain to collect enough for production runs... I tend to use my lots, for harvesters, and some of my Guild member lots for Harvesters... and I know of several good Resouce Vendors on Eclipse who sell Inorganic Resouces in Large stacks of 10K or higher for Good prices... I use two vendors mainly, and thats about it..

I am always on the look out for Wooly hides, as well as good leathers, but wooly hide is the main hide for all the armors above bone and mabari...
