Had Tuanga make my helmet last week, results were not bad and the slice went well
More info on that here.
This week I decided it was time to have another peice made, end up going with the chestplate only because I felt the leggings are a cooler peice and I would be more motivated to continute GDK hunting if I saved them for next time. Anyway, here are the components we used:
10% NS layer -17 action
10% NS layer -17 action
13% NS layer -8 action
4% Yellow Geo Cube
-27/-36/-34 Exceptional NS Shard
Surprisingly the peice had no amazing successes anywhere along the way, and still turned out as close to perfection as is possible in my mind. The segment was 52% base and 25% knetic, (no HAM stats, didn't see it) and the final peice came out to be 80/80 with 187/0/0 encumberance
Here is a picture of the finished peice. I don't think i'll have it sliced as it has no flaws, the only reason I had the last peice sliced was just to raise the base to my 80% goal (which end up slicing to 90%).
A big thanks to Tuanga for having the patience to put up with me and answer all my questions during the making of this peice and the last, I could only pray the rest of my set even comes close to this beauty

good work
I saw one the other day that someone posted here with no vulnerabilities at all. If I where going to make RIS, I would make it like that.

To each his own, I guess I really don't see the point of having 13% acid and 13% stun resists...

If i were ever going to make no vuln RIS it would be 40% stun and 40% acid. Unfortunately the piece I need for that is rare and sold to someone else

On the contrary, nothing is a much better idea.
The main weapons you see used in pvp for stun are the jawa ion and the stun baton. Both of these are AP1, meaning the baseline resist is the only resist your going to get with your RIS. If you went ahead and sacrified quality (much higher ham, possibly not 80/80 resists, etc) to put in a layer of stun, you're only going to block 13% or so of it and your armor will take a huge conditon loss with each hit. If you do no stun, sure you're going to take a bit more damage, but your super expensive epic armor might actually survive a few days in pvp.
With acid, theres no reason to be using any resists. Clearly vulnerablilites to it are better. Not only are you going to take a huge condition loss to your epic armor if hit by an acid weapon, but the main weapons your going to see used against you are the scatter pistol and the dxr-6b rifle. The scatter is AP1 so its the same scenario as the weapons above, but the rifle is totally different. Its AP2, meaning you will actually take more damage when hit by it than you would if you were vulnerable to it, since vulnerabilites make the weapon AP0 against you.
The only scenario I could see it actually being feasable to put stun or acid into RIS is if you have some amazing (30%+?) NS layers and can waste two layer slots to double up on stun just for pvp, but you will still see extremely increased condition loss when actually using it.

beautiful work, just such a crying shame that ris has kinetic special protection or that'd be the perfect PVE piece.
ap1 weapons (like jawa) get a 25% dmg bonus when hitting an ar0 target (stun vuln = ar0), So even just 4% stun would take away this 25% bonus. ap0 weapons (like stun batons) do normal damage to ar0, but only do half damage to ar1 (any amount of stun resists = ar1). So yeah no matter how you slice it, just getting the stun resist so it's ar1 to stun is worthwhile.
However I wouldn't wear a pieces like that for pvp myself. Not when high base stun resist composite can be done so much easier.

Ah but see think of it like this: Say you get hit for 1000 points of damage by a TKA. PVP reduction knocks that down to 250, and the knetic resists knock it down to 50. The AR is cancelled out by AP, so that would be the actual damage done. Now lets say a rifleman hits you for 1000 points of damage with a jawa ion rifle. PVP reduction hits that to 250, and the 12% stun resists (what a layer would have provided) knock that down to 220. The AR is cancelled out by AP again. Now armor condition is based on damage that the armor fails to block, so here we see a 440% increase on condition loss per hit. Also there is a flaw in your theory
Against our TKA buddy the condition loss is based on the 50 damage taken. Against the rifleman, its based on the 220 that if failed to block. With vulnerabilities, 0 condition loss is done. This means compared to an 80% resist there is a 440% percent increase in condition loss with 12% stun. With vulnerabilties there is a 12% damage increase but no condition loss at all. So in the end, you can take 12% less damage (or 4% in your example), or take a ton more condition loss. For me, i'd rather take the 30 point hit
And for acid this is even worse, it's actually the flip side. The bonuses for a medium AP (dxr6-b) rifle would actually make the damage dealt higher than with stun vulnerabilities and you still have that huge increase in condition loss. I'm not going to run the numbers, but you get the idea

LoL - you're telling me you actually use your RIS for anything other than standing & spamming Coronet?
