just to clarify, the NPC is actually on Dantooine and yes, he is in the Imperial outpost (he's the bloke in the med centre/cloning facility.

Also once you do it, if you reset the planet via record keeper, (mining outpost) you can get 2 schematics

You, a friend, or better yet all your friends (so you can get alot of schematics) only have to have the minimum 200 Imperial Faction Points, sign up, and talk to the guy in the Med Center of the Imperial Outpost on Dantooine. His missions, at the most, require you to kill a low-level thug or two. Having -5000 thug faction will be a problem unless /conversationStart or /conv is working, since all your contacts are thugs as well.

Any Master Armorsmith can make it, be they Rebel, Imperial, or neutral. Just gotta have some Snowflake buddies who'll go get it for you.

A limited schematic with 5 uses that requires 3 identical subcombines, the most you're going to get off of each factory run is 332, so plan ahead, and makea run of999 for the one you need 3 of(is it the Particle Deflector? I forget.) and 333 of everything else. Remember that you're going to lose some of your subcombines to the final schematic, so you'll only have 996 of the one and 332 of the rest.

Go ahead and make larger factory runs of the subcombines if you plan on making other kinds of shields down the road. I'm just listingthe minimumyou'll need to get the most out of each manufacturing schematic for the Imperial PSG.

Wanted to add one thing to this great reply

You can use the crappiest resources known for the subcomponents as they have no bearing whatsoever on the final build. The only thing you need to worry about is the metals you use when making the final assembly.

Get the best quality you can for those, shoot for a 50% base and they will sell like hotcakes

Important thing in what you just wrote is "used to"

I started trying from 65 all the way down to 40 when he aggroed me :-(

I have a quick question, do you have to be Imperial to be able to use the finished PSG?

I have this as well. Luckily I had an alternate character who was able to do this instead. But to answer your question, you have to go to Naboo and start killing lots and lots of NPC Plainsfolk for +20-25 thug faction a pop. The Naboo Holy Men and the Gungans will not raise your Thug standing, so leave them alone. This is going to leave you with negative Naboo faction that nobody seems to know how to raise, and eventually the Holy Men, Tusk Cat Riders, and Domestic Tusk Cats are going to aggro you. Unless you live on Naboo, this shouldn't cause you much trouble.

Oh, and thanks to Camrex (sp) for adding the part I missed.

Zaphb do as said above, try typeing /conv from a distance. This atleast used to work at around 60m or so.

As for CertifiedPyro's Question: any player, be it neutral, rebel or imperial can use it. The only drawback for useing one is that you can't wear a belt at the same time. Also, as stated above, any player can make it as long as they got the schematic, the skills and resources to make it happen.

Anyone can use the finished product. Maybe it's supposed to be just for the Empire's soldiers, but here's the thing:

The shield doesn't care.

Does this apply to only the Imoperial version? Can you make junk subs on MK3 and still get a max resistance with top quality resources on the finial combine?Have I been wasting my resources on the normal ones also?

Applies to all PSG's... Subcomponents make ZERO difference in the stats of the final product. The only thing that matters is the final combine.
