Thread: Lot Limits and Player Built Cities

My guess is that all player built cities to begin with will be built by very large PAs who can both afford and have the lot amounts to build such things. Then, I can predict that the PAs will be so large that internal schizms will occur and people will become upset, dividing the city into the "east" side and the "west" side. Many rap songs later, er...nevermind..

Anyway, player built cities may truly be diverse many, many months from now but I think for the time being they're just going to be largeplayer associationsbuilding houses and shops around theirPA buildings. If that is the case then good luck building your small house next to "their" city, unless they welcome outsiders. In my experience, they don't, at least not theguilds on EQ when I played (many years ago).

I hope I'm wrong. Maybe I'm just too pessimistic or maybe I'm still upset that people have already built PA buildings, I don't know.

Lol Caymen.

Numen, that's a great idea to limit some of the lots to houses only. That would fix our problems with upping the lot limit! Maybe a dev will see that.

LOL camyen... from the Main board:

"

yes devs,on bloodfinwe have 1 large, 1 medium, 4 smalls, multiple factories placed, and more houses on the way. when is the player city function sapposed to be implimented? people are already trying to place their houses within our "designed" territory and to be quite frank, its pissing me off. if i wanted these people in my city i would ask them, now they suddenly think they can be a part of it? they are taking space for people we really want in the city.

so whats gonna be the fix? can i call a GM and have them removed? will city implimentations be done any time soon? or are we looking at SE release like i figured it would be back when the delay was announced?

thx for you time

Lol, that does say it all, right there. That PA thinks they own the land now.

what i was more concerned with was building shuttle ports or cloning centers and other "municipal" structures...

if i build a shuttle port will it take all 10 of my lots and leave me homeless with no extractors?

I guess some people think that if they get a person in there PA to a Master Architect really fast, it gives them permisison to designate land for themselves. I sure am glad they are trying tohelp the greater community.

If we only have the miniscule 10 lots, how will be build player cities?

Will the new structures not count against us or will this be something that only the PAs with there massive pool of lots can even hope to attempt?

Thank God there's a 10-lot limit or eventually we'd have to hop from rooftop to rooftop to go anyplace. This will not hinder the construction of cities since I would expect cities to be built by MANY players who combine their lot allotments.

Balanced would be 15 lots, but it would hand the large PAs that much more to work with. Soloing an elite profession is rather hard, at this point. I guess everyone has to at least join together in a small PA to get the lots of combat characters not using them.

a PA does help but right now all you really need is 1-2 friends. Resources are the major problem right now. If someone actually got 20-30 havestors up, they would be pretty set at getting Master in a few weeks at the max.

I also thought the 10 was a little low. I would like 15 but would like some restictions on it. Like 5 of those have to be living buildings and not factories/havestors, or something like that.
