Thread: Using other peoples lots

I don't agree with Dragon Lords posts, but if someone is using 100 lots that is a bit outrageous. I think a comprimise would be to set a maximum number of extractors that you can have admin/hopper rights to. I don't think we should penalize people for being social, but 100 is a bit much and gives some of the big PAs too much of an advantage.

Limit the amount of extractors you can access to 30 or 50? Is this a good idea or a bad idea?

Pointless idea.

All you would be doing is making the "lot donators" do the leg work as well and give the materials to the PA Architect.

Same advantage, bigger pain in the keester.

Wow, imagine a resource shift with a 100 harvesters and 10-15 owners.

Bad idea....

I am a solo player. Not part of a PA and not borrowing friends lots.I do run 40 lots however. How? I rent them from people. So before you assume everyone with multiple lots should be restricted because they are not on a even playing field you should find out what is actually going on.

Just so i am clear how do you expect us to make the very large items without running dozens of lots. PA's with 100 members will always find a way to get the resources they need if you try and restirct them. So basically you are saying that we should try and stop the small guy from making it and only let PA members make it.

The true solution would be to give us all 100 lots then we would be on a level playing field.

I just want to add that I am also tired of people crying about not making a profit as an Architech. Sorry you will get no sympathy from me. I am a millionaire in the game and have done it all on my own and all selling my only products. Structures (ok ocassionaly i sell some resources)

Surprised I haven't seen any one saying that too many lots is a problem.I would have expected some PA bashers on saying this is a huge exploit and is driving them out of business.

I guess all in all limiting access to extractorsis a bad idea. If people are resourceful or really social let them build as big of a business as they can. I personally think using other people lots is better than giving people more lots. Yes it would be nice to have more but I think the interdependincies are more important.

If lots were raised to a more reasonable 20 lots per person there would be far less need to share lots and the PA's would have a lessened advantage over the rest of us. They would still have their advantage but not as much.

Restricting lot usage would only hurt the small independent architect. Like said elsewhere in this thread PA's will always be able to find a way around this so its pointless to try to restrict them at the expense of everyone else.

Plot count is a personal limitation that is part of the game, much like the number of skill points you have. Just accept it. I would love to have more plots and skill points, but I don't cause that is part of the game.

This is a social game, like it or not, and working with others gets you much further in the game than by going solo. However working with others requires a lot more work on your part to organize. A resource shift with 100 harvestors is a nightmare and after about the 3rd shift and many lost harvestors, the PA will go in minning teams to make things easier. Again that is an organizational/social thing which is a huge part of the game.

Additionally, I am not interested in finding the entire planet I live on, as well as the entire planet of any planet I visit, FULL OF BUILDINGS AND HARVESTERS.

Right now, things might still be relatively empty compared to what conditions will be in 2 years. Personally, I hate having to dodge all kinds of obstructions on a simple trek toward town or some other place of interest.

Weapons need certifications

Droids will get certifications

CH pets are going to have a type of certification

I still think Medium and Heavy Harvesters should also.

Oh, but Maddhacker, they do.

You have to have enough patience to find a location that is both flat enough to hold a larger harvester and has decent resources.

You have to be able to afford the maintenance.
