Thread: Strange Crafting Station problem

I made a Food & Chem crafting station for a player, using metals with good Overall Quality and experimenting it up to 80%.

The buyer dropped the station in her house, then tried to makea military travel pack for a customer, only to discover the schematic was no longer in her crafting kit. On a hunch, she picked up the Food & Chem crafting station and her military travel pack schematic returned!

I know it doesn't seem to make much sense, but...well, I won't say anything nasty tonight about the game. Has anyone encountered this problem before?

I assume the military travel pack requires the private clothing station?

I have never had trouble with multiple craft stations in one room, as long as I stand right next to the one I want to use and target it. But I know some people do, and the solution is to spread the stations out more..put one in a different room.

I have insight into this problem. I tried to shove 3 crafting stations into a small room. I quickly realized that they werent functioning. I couldn't experiment, and I couldn't make items that they were supposed to allow me to make.

The problem in my case was that in order to fit them all into the same room i kinda shoved them all a little bit into their respective walls so that the room wasnt crowded. Apparently, if you do this, you aren't considered to be standing next to to them. They mise well not be there. What i did was move them back out of the wall to where they werent touching them any longer. The crafting stations now work fine. Its all about keeping them away from walls a bit.

Btw, its all reproducable. Shoving each station '1' unit backward into the wall again nullifies that crafting stations effects. Moving them '1' unit back out lets them work again.

I figured this out last night.... there are some things I haven't fully figured out, however... you can tell if you are near a private crafting station simply by seeing if you have the input hopper option on that tool (easier than having to build something every time).

From what I can tell... you can only be in the area of ONE crafting station at a time.. so if you take your crafting stations and put them in a square around you, only ONE will give you its benefit (probably the one closest to you, and if they are all EXACTLY the same distance, probably the first one checked.. or maybe the last.. or maybe one picked at random.. *shrug*).

I did test with them partially in a wall, that didn't seem to affect anything particularly...

Another oddity that occurred... my stations are in a public building which has an access fee... however, in a nearby public building, which my clothing station is against a wall near it, facing the opposite way (its back is to this other house), you get the effects of my crafting station. Not a horrible thing, but I could see it bothering some people, along with similiar issues... it DOES NOT work for someone standing outside the building, right next to the wall (between the 2 houses), but it DOES work for someone INSIDE the other building, near the edge where that crafting station is.

Interesting. All 3 of my stations are basically touching each other they are so close, and all 3are functioning correctly now. Its a small naboo house, private setting.
