Thread: question about upgrading houses
hello,
I recently purchased what was advertised as a type 2 Naboo house only to find out that it was an actual type 1. I purchased it from a vendor on Naboo and the deed even said type 2 so i think it was only a typo error on the part of the manufacturer. or at least I'll give the benifite of doubt on that.
my question is this,
can i upgrade the structure without tearing in down? it seems like a total waste of 12K credits if i have to start over.
if the structure is not ugradeable is there any other recorse other then spreading the word that this individual is selling mismarked deeds to the general public through word of mouth and message boards?
**to the people i purchased from IF you do read this, please note that I have not mentioned names, nor have i made any negative comment yet**
Are you absolutely sure about the different types of Naboo small houses? Style 2 is the dome-shaped version and Style 1 is the taller version.
Yes, structure deeds can be renamed, which has allowed some unscrupulous people to sell mislabeled deeds. Always do an examine on the deed in the trade window before purchasing it. Ignore whatever the name is and only look at the description. I've never seen an incorrect description on a deed.
Of course, I don't see what value it would be to the seller to change the name of a Style 2 deed to Style 1, or vice versa. Doesn't seem to make much sense.
No, there's no way to upgrade from a different house, other than redeeding your current house and selling/trading it for the other version. Personally, I would swap one type of deed for another for no charge, but other Architects might have different policies.
It sounds like you might be confused on what "type 1" and "type 2" mean, but if I'm wrong, I apologize.
There are two types of small Naboo houses, the Type 1, which is the normal looking house with the tower, and the Type 2, which is the round gazeebo-style one. Neither is an "upgrade" from the other.
Were you looking for a "medium" house perhaps? That would be considered an upgrade from a small, but is going to cost you a lot more than 12k.
If you were looking for a small type 2 (roundhouse), and it was really a type 1, then you are a victim of the fact that a crafter can name something they craft whatever they want. Since all Deeds look the same, this is particularly prone to cheating.
Luckily the name of the crafter is on the item, so you can contact them in-game and try for a resolution. If you feel you were really cheated, then you can submit a claim to a CSR and see if they can help.
FYI - There is no way to change or upgrade a deed to a different one. You'd have to pull down the first, make sure your maintenance is paid up so you reclaim the deed, and you can trade it back or sell it.
Just because it hasn't been mentioned yet. . .
Type 1 and 2 small Naboo's take exactly the same amount of material to make. If you re-deed the house (pay the maintenance penalty) then I would imagine there are plenty of architects who would trade it for the other one if they have one made. Hopefully whomever you bought it from will trade you.
I know I've done it before when my buyers picked the wrong one by mistake.
