Thread: An idea for bringing back repeat customers.
I say that to simplify everything just make it so that when houses are destroyed, the deed can never be reclaimed. Also in comination, bump up the number of lots required by the different sized houses. I realize this may suck compared ot the current system where it is super easy to maintain the deed, and would be infinitely bad for people who ever wanted to move a large house. But I think that it would force the people who wanted to upgrade to just tear down there smaller house and therefore not be able to flood the market selling it at half the "normal" cost. It would also influence people to find a good spot for their home and keep it.
Now as for the idea of Structure repair, no offense but I think that would just be a huge hassle. Not only would you have to find an architect to do the repair, but you would have to get him to go all the way out to your home to do the repair. Maybe once vehicles get introduced this would be more likely to happen, but right now, there's no way I'd be running out to some of these people's houses.
In a profession such as ours, in which the only repeat customers we get are "house upgrades". I have an idea for increasing the "ongoing" need for architects beyond the initial sale. I mean as it stands, most customers are a one time sale and will never need us again. What will happen when most of the current players have a house? The market will get dry. So this is what I propose.
House maintence be divided up into two different types of house maintence.
1) General Maintence (existing) The normal maintence that is to be paid daily for the general upkeep of the house. It should be reduced "somewhat" to help balance itself for the second maintence type.
2) Structure Repair Structures should "slowly" degrade over time losing quality as time passes. There should be a "house quality" point system that indicates when a house is due for repair and refurbish maintence that can ONLY be done by an architect. Structures shouldn't be "lost" when quality becomes critical, but little things like "flickering lights" ...."doors opening slowly".....and just general annoying indicators.
This in my opinion would keep us in business with many of the people that we sale to beyond the initial purchase. Any thoughts on this?
