Not sure if anyone has tried this but make a tech console (the one without the fancy red panels) .

Then drop say, an xwing holo and the console in the same spot in your house, then /move up 100 on the hologram and tada! The console makes a great mount for the hologram. I named my tech console like Xwing analyzer.
