Thread: Are these any good or trash them?

I started the game at launch and had to stop playing due to a medical issue about 18 months ago. I recently returned and read the FAQ and info about harvesters. I have a bunch of ore mining units from before the changes to harvesters, when they were all created equal. The mining units do not show any stats on them. When you examine them, they say the name and quantity 1 on each one. I don't want to waste the resources making a harvestor with them without knowing if these are any good or if I should start over. I'd appreciate any advice, Thanks

Since they don't say, and since you didn't brand them, I would just trash them. Get your good resources and make a new batch and label the schematic with the percentage that you got them to (e.g., OMU +93% 0706 or something). That way you will know what you have, and they will crate up (in 5-packs) now.

Welcome back.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking it would be safer to start over also. As for curiosity, after I have a few good harvestors going I might decide to make one and see. I'll post the results if I do. Thanks

I had a friend who left the game and left me a pile of unmarked mining components (he never learned how important it is to label them with the quality). So all I had to go on was the "BER" on the component.

The OMUs, although BER6, were low enough quality that I couldn't make BER14 fusions with them, soI trashed them. The Heavy Harvester Units were high enough quality to make BER13 flora harvesters. It was definately hit or miss.

So - always label your mining components with the *exact* experimentation quality you reach. If they aren't marked you are always taking a chance.

I don't regard it as that important. You can make your BER even with lower end BER 6 OMUs/Harvesting mechanism. There's just some waste involved if you don't experiment well.
