I was running around last night and went inside a guys house.
He had streetlights. They were lit.
Jealous, I ran straight back to my place and made five.
Plop.
Nothing. Nada. Zip.
Are some of the street lamps not turned on?
Just had a thought. Maybe it's because he was in a city and I wasn't?
Suggestions?

The lights are tied to the day night cycle and only light up at night and automatically turn off during the day time. Wait until nightfalls again and recheck them they should light up.

since all of them were off I'd say it's the daylight cycle.
If just one wasn't working then I'd redrop it. You guys notice how sometimes the flame effect for a torch doesn't display when you drop it, so it needs to be redropped? If it were just one may be something like that.

They only come on at night. If you want to know where you are in the cycle, do a control-shift-G. That turns on a display that shows you all kinds of stuff, including the "world time" where you are at. Just use control-shift-G to toggle it back off.
