  • Removed the high efficiency harvester maintenance penalty as it imbalanced heavy harvesters and punishing experimentation. This change will immediately affect all deeded and placed harvesters, you do not need to redeed your harvester.

In other words, those BER 10 heavies are even MORE worthless now.

The main concern I have right now is if they fixed whatever power issue is going on with harvesters as well and just didn't tell us about it, or it was linked to this increased maintenance and with the removal of that the bugged power is gone as well. I can't wait to check later today. -_-

    Hi,

no, they are not more worthless. The stay the same as they were, maybe a lil bit better, cause the penalty for using them is not that big anymore.

    Read ya.

Not really, because the BER 10 mediums are even more cost efficient now, in terms of cost per unit. If you can mine the same amount of resources at a much better cost per unit(.37 for the heavy, .24 for the medium), and at a less expensive starting cost(for most at least), why wouldnt you?

same argument was had before about mediums vs heavies.... its a no win argument....

personally i think they should have left the fees alone and just bumped mediums at a higher rate.

I'm sure people will have me for that comment though

    Hey Archs!

Just to clarify, Heavies with 13 BER's (or greater than BER 7's) arenow 90 per hour in maintenance and 75 in power? With no additional costs? Thanks for your help!

    Yes, that is correct Blackmoore.

I think what really messes up the system is that mediums were never intended to go to 10 BER. Its obvious because the light ore mining units only show a BER 4 rate, meaning that +4 to the base should only be possible, thus maxing them at 8, which would make the mediums fall right in line as far as efficiency. Someone goofed on the formula though, so now a BER 4 LOMU can miraculously give a +6 to the base, making a +10 unit.

I'm not quite sure what was wrong with the current system. Even with the extremely high rates people were still buying tones of ER 13's. The cost of pulling materials out of the ground is next to nothing even with those maintenance rates.
