Someone i talked to in the game claimed that you can not trade schematics is this correct?

I think you CAN trade schematics... I've done it before, but a month or so ago. So unless they changed it, you can.

Unless they changed it in the last publish, yes, you can trade schematics.

But yea, just remember the components have to be THE EXACT SAME as was used in the schematic. You cant just use 'steel' it has to be the same name...
Figure you know this, but if you were new at using a factory, you could get a suprise :/

If i want a factory to produce something from a schematic, would i need to make the schematic myself and be able to make the item myself or can i get someone else to make me a schematic and go use it?

You can have someone else make a schematic for you, but you would have to use the same materials that person used to create the schematic. Unless, you hand over the materials required for 1 unit of the item and have him/her make the schematic with those materials you already have.
