Thread: Storage Experimentation Affects Effectiveness??????
Was making a medium chemical extractor today ... did my experimention on the effectiveness, and got base 10 extraction rate. Had 1 experimention point left over, which I dumped into Storage Capacity. I got a critical failure on that, and my extraction rate dropped to 9.
So failures on one experimentation attribute, can affect other attributes ... can that work *FOR* us tho? If I get good experimentation on storage size, will that affect the extraction rate?
Anybody have any 2 cents?
Experimentingon the storage size won't affect extraction.
I've experienced a critical failure on the efficiency, and it tanked it to 0%, and no amount of experimenting after it (6 more points remaining) budged it off that 0%, it was like it was permastuck there. I /bug'ged that one.
1, yes a fail on one this can alter another, ive seen it happen many times.
2, once you hit a crit and it goes to zero that means that line of experimention is a complete failer and will not raise it no matter how many points you spend. I dont think its a bug i think its well you screwed up royally and your done.. Aka you put a big nasty hole in that generator you just made and nothing short of making a brand new casing will fix it.
By right i dont think this should happen. If i do not get better efficiency by amazing success on storage, why should i lose efficiency by a critical failure on storage? It just doesn't make any sense.

Because you pounded a nail through a storage casing and it scratched up against some gears, knocking them slightly out of whack?
I think it makes sense on crits only. It sucks, but critical failures are critical things.
I've had this happen to me last night. That's what I get for going up to the bare minimum for that 10-rated harvester. Errr.. 9 that is. =)
I just accept, knock a chunk of the price, and move on.
